    Tow vehicle brakes.

I was wonder what you guys (and galls) thought about using ceramic brake pads?

On my ford expedition, the back brakes needed new pads, so I went with the ceramic due to low dust. Now when I am backing the trailer down the ramp my front tires lock-up. I am not sure if I should put ceramic on the front ( so all four are the same) or but the back, back to OEM.

    Any thoughts?

    David,

Not to digress but...did you have to replace the rear pads on your Expedition *before* the fronts needed replacing? I was surprised that I had to replace the rears on my Expedition and the fronts still had over 50% of the pad left....

As for mixing types of pad material...not a good idea.

    Ambivalent? Yes. Or Not.

Quit normal on cars and trucks with rear disc.

Did this appear before or after the tire and suspension upgrade?

I've noticed our (2007) expedition appears to struggle a little bit while pulling the Tige. I expected it to tow it as if it wasn't back there. Is the Tige that heavy, or is something wrong with our car?

about 4800 for boat/traier -gear. What gear does your Exp. have?

The expedition has the 5.7l, and is supposed to tow 9200 lbs. It tows it, it just seems as if it struggles a little bit.

Last yea we towed our 19 foot I/O (probably 2500 lbs) with an explorer, and it seemed to do better.

You have this problem called "altitude"...you lose roughly 20% of your horsepower by living in Denver! I had the same problem with my Avalanche, others think they tow great but up here it's

The mod motors are a little weak when it comes to towing/working. I was always disappointed with my expedition.

after but I think its the trailer brakes doing it

Your Tige is a heavy beast. Probably weighs more than double your old boat including trailer. How do you think they get the wake lookin so good without ballast?

Don't tow in Colorado with anything but a DLV (Diesel Luxury Vehicle)...
I call it a DLV for 2 reasons. 1. Once you tow with a DLV you'll never go back. 2. With diesel at over $4/ gal it is definitely a luxury.

I love passing SUVs at 80mph up the eastbound Eisenhower approach with my (8K lbd.) 4 place snowmobile trailer in tow (or boat).

Brakes - I used to have a Chevy S10. I towed our old 19' I/O with it. Two months after we got our DLV, I had an ahole flip a u turn on the midian on I-70 near Grand Junction. If we still had the S10, that guy would have had a chevy emblem on his *** and I would have been wearing our boat as a hat. Big trucks have big brakes.

Ford had a problem with the brake mechanism on the rear disc brakes. I had the same issue on my F-150. Had to replace the whole assembly.
