Great News Update 6-2-08

Another update on Sean. I replaced the names of his Co-Workers for respect of privacy and put in Co-Worker so it may seem a little weird reading. Other than that it is all from his supervisor.

Sunday Evening, June 1st:

Another good day for Sean. He was able to watch the Memorial Golf Tournament (Jack Nicklaus' Tournament). He was again, resting throughout the day. Debbie visited at each of the visitor windows.
Co-Worker was also able to see Sean today. His demeanor has been very good, even though he does have moments of melancholy. This is understood as he has a lot of 'catching up' to do. The rest of us have followed his progress from 'day one' while he has been aware for only a week.

His wound vac was changed on his hip/pelvic area. The nurses attempted to cut his hair but had some problems with dull clippers. In addition, they also attempted to give him a shave but nicked him in several places. I have to laugh, the nurses can manage his critical issues but had trouble cutting hair. We'll try to get some new (sharp) clippers so Sean can maintain his image of clean shaven.

Sean has been breathing on his own for most of the last day or so.
Minimal oxygen is supplementing his own effort to breathe. This is a really good improvement.

Tomorrow, they are planning on feeding him through his 'feeding tube'
normally. They have abandoned the option of attempting to move the tube deeper in his stomach (past the build up of bile) for the now.

His Co-Worker told me that Sean looks very good. He seems his old self and was very responsive to his Co-Worker. I appreciate his Co-Worker taking time from his weekend to visit Sean.
