      update 5-22-08

An update from him mom. Talltigeguy might be able to explain the number and medication thing for us if you need to know. I don't understand any of that stuff it does not have to do with an engine, sterio, or electrical system.

Ok I know you all want to hear some good news will here's some.
Sean's medicine doseages are lower today. (for those of us who are detailed in nature read on here's the numbers 250mcg/hr for Fentanyl, Versed 8mg/hr, 9.6 White blood cell count and his breathing machine number was 15 maybe even 10 today ) He's breathing more on his own today and the good news is:
A drain and tube are being removed today.( again for those of us who like details he also received an X-ray to see if everything was ok after the removal of the tube and drain.) He was responsive to two questions and he has another wound vac surgery tomorrow.
Ok I am heading to bed. I hope I didn't ramble too long.
      Good night everyone,

Sounds good. As long as they can remove or reduce med's, everything is going in the right direction.

        Thanks again for the update.

Reality is only an illusion that occurs due to a lack of alcohol.

                  That's usually a good sign!

This still doesn't seem real, does it?

No, seems like we were close to losing one of our own.

Wow!!!! He is getting enough sedatives to tranquilize a horse. The body develops a tolerance to these kinds of medications. Greater than 50mcg of the fentanyl would be enough to stop a lot of people from breathing, if they were naive to the medicine. Good to hear that they are able to start making progress on things. Sorry to hear he still has to have surgeries to keep cleaning things out.
                        Be excellent to one another.

The updates regarding Sean sound great. The reduction in pain killers is great news. Fentynal is a long acting pain killer that I use at 400mcg every 3 hours and it is good to see they are reducing Seans dosage. As they continue to lighten fentanyl more he will gain awareness which should be great news.

The high five attempt to Seans Mom is a good sign to me. It shows that Seans spirits when concious seem to be good and that will aid him in his battle to heal. Keep it up Sean !!!!

                          Thanks SPBFAN for the updates.

                            .

I am sorry to hear that you are on it as well. Why do you have to use Fentynal?

Yikes...his Versed dose is 4 times what we use to sedate patients before cardioversion...and the Fentanyl dose is high too. His WBC count looks decent...don't want to see it go over 11K. Keep it up, Sean!
