You also can leave the pump as is. Does not have tobe higher than the bag
    Let it be!!!

I would have to install at least one more check valve to stop the pump from sucking air from the output vent. Perhaps another check valve after the T so water don't go back to the sack when empting.

That looks like a much better deal chpthril... don't have to cut any more holes than he already has.

          Agree. Good catch, Jim, thanks.

the reason I put it higher is to stop the sack from draining by itself after it is full. The pumps do not stop the watert from going out.

But the check valve will stop that now

His diagram I would have to use 3 check valves.

I'd lower the pump, but raise the hose between the bag and the pump. This should take some of the pressure off to prevent the trickle. It would make it work a bit harder when emptying, but it shouldn't be too bad.

true! I am still trying to solve a problem that has being address with a check valve.

Yes and you definitely will have the ballast puppy working with minimal effort also.

I'm wondering if the vacuum from the backwards scoop is the cause of the unwanted back-flow??????

Just curious, what's the purpose of the backflow if you have a vent or are you saying it's in lieu of the vent?

You will only need 2 check valves per pump. One between the manifold and the pump and one on the vent line before the T with the drain line. Or if you fill and drain from the top of the bag you could get away with one check valve on the vent line and fill and drain through the thru hull. By filling and draining from top of bag you might lose a little water in the bag but not much. I am taking off my check valves on my fill lines since tehy are higher than the bag

Not sure but it's better than a forward one and forcing the water into the bag. Check value will solve this IMO.

Asking me? the backflow is the unwanted draining of the sac through the pump while cruising. These pumps aren't supposed to do this.
