I started out with a 94 yukon, thought it would be fine, not really. It did ok, underpowered, but the main problem is since it had such a short wheel base, the boat(03, 21ir) pulled me all over the road. I now have a 2000 powerstroke and will never go back. It weighs more then the boat and trailer, so it doesn't get bossed around, can pull the trailer in two wheel up any ramp I've hit so far. will do what ever speed you want up what ever hill you want, and still get at least 12 mpg. I'll never go back to gas, I know that.
But as far as your trucks, the biggest thing to consider is not the engine size, but also how big your truck is. If it has a longer wheel base it will pull it better. Also what are you gonna be using it for? I mean a the HO jeeps will pull a tige if you want to, just depends on how far.
