Was watching the video where you think my boat was and noticed where they put the tower that there is a piece of wood there (circled in black where I am talking about). I thought Tige got rid of the wood in their boats??????

LOL! It is just a 2 by 4, not the entire stringer...What will happen to that block of wood after a few years of alternating heat and moisture? What exactly does it do? The video is painful to watch from the current computer I am using because it stops every 3 seconds.

I toured the factory four weeks ago and there was no wood that I could see. The backings were either Penske board or aluminum, from what I observed.

Haha watch the z1 video. You'll find out why their gas rateings are so bad for it!

I wonder if you're just seeing the fiberglass mat and resin on top of the backing plate...making it look like wood. Sorry if this is way off, I am looking at it on my laptop and it doesn't a very big screen.

I actually just watched the factory tour video and the immediate next frame after the one you posted with the circle shows a close-up and it does look like an aluminum plate glassed into place with a little bit of wrinkle or air bubble that gives it the look of wood grain.

I've drilled .5 a dozen Tige boats in the past year, either wiring the towers for speakers, or installing a tower. I have not seen one wood shaving Not saying it's not wood, but dont know what it is

What you are seeing is an aluminum plate
I have been to the factory and have seen how they are installed There is no wood in the boat-or any where in the factory for that matter

Aluminum Plate with wood grains. j/k

I have never seen an aluminum plate that has the color and lines that match wood. Not saying it is but it's odd to see something even remote to the looks of wood.

Like I said, it is the fiberglass mat and resin that gave it the wood grain look.
