Not saying that I disagree. But there are many different colors in that piece and on the middle right side does have some markings/printed lettering. The "blood veins" are obvious but IDK, it would be interesting to see for myself.
Years ago when I worked as an acoustic engineer doing transducer design, we were tasked with coming up with a new cone... The best sounding ones were what basically could be called paper, (actually a mix of paper with some Kapok and some hemp, rags, other stuff...).
Still, the cone that we figured out really did everything we need it to was, in effect, paper. Marketing had a hard time with it, so we shared with them that our new cone was developed with "an advanced cellulose-based engineering composite".
Yup.... paper...
It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....
First off ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK GO KUUUUUUU! Sorry i had to get that in. I am here to ease the worries that some of you see some type of wood in the boats. Not to brag but i did drive down to San Antonio last week to watch the Championship and on the way down i stopped at the birthplace of my new Z1 to get a tour. I can assure you all that there isn't any wood in these boats what you are seeing is composite material. There is a reason that Tige is the only boat with a Lifetime Replacement Warrenty. ROCK CHALK!!!!
The whole wood thing is a red herring. Actually, Tige stopped putting wood in their boats because their competitors kept bashing them about it. In reality, the wood's a bit stiffer than the composite when it comes to stringers. I got wood in my boat, but virtually all of it is glassed over. All the seat bottoms are Penske composite. The seat backs are pressure treated and were in great shape when I had the vinyl replaced.
We get some pretty rough water here sometimes and my Tige's still rock solid.
Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."
I've drilled .5 a dozen Tige boats in the past year, either wiring the towers for speakers, or installing a tower. I have not seen one wood shaving Not saying it's not wood, but dont know what it is
The last holes I drilled in our 05 were definately drilled thru and into wood - but that was on my teak deck to support the FAE.
