Lake Oroville - Lime Saddle Marina

In 2002, the year before I moved here, Lime Saddle Marina was partially destroyed from huge winds. The marina has been slowly getting better, like now they have forever resorts houseboats. They have been talking about a huge 3 million dollar facelift, and it just started TODAY!

There will now be 80 new secure covered slips. I am on the waiting list for them, have been for a couple of years. I REALLY hope I get one. Man, to have my own slip would be so B*tchen. I would guess we would put 300 hrs on our boat this year if we have a slip. Looks like they are going to be $325/month.

I think I am going to sacrifice a chicken or something, possibly help my odds.

Just wondering. I don't mind my tax dollars to help but again, the state of CA is in a major hurting with their budget. My GF's office is already issuing pink slips to people.

Finally had a chance to visit the "Reading Room". Apparently Forever was awarded the contract to operate the marina in october of 2007. Part of the deal was that forever had to commit to $3 mil in improvements. So it sounds like forever is paying for it all. I am going to have to drive down and take a look, looks like they are putting in real good, sturdy steel docks and such, can't wait. Supposed to be all done by June.
