    Anyways, I thought of that too. However, if the only thing thats changed in the boat is the batteries, I'd start there. Have the batteries and cables tested, and work from there. Electrical can be such a PITA!

      well another thing is that at the lake we filled up our new ballast system of 2000 lbs and had 9 people in the boat and i just put my new four blad prop on and the boat would ony go like 15 mph with a 340 5.7 in it. im thinking that something is not charging in it.

        ok i have another question. there is a factory power wire the size of a batter cable running from my started over to the alt but its just taped off and isnt hooked to anything. where it looks like its supposed to be hooked up has a red cable already there running back to a box that has there pwer wires comming out of it. th ebox is located behind the batteries in my 22v. help !!!!

          What is the black box?

          In factory installs, the alternator power usually goes to the starter. From there is goes back to the battery along with a ground. It keeps wire runs down. That is the wire you must be seeing.

          The black box was probably added and is likely an isolator or combiner. If they added this then they just taped off the factory wire. I would go ahead and remove that if this is true. The black box should have battery cable going to each of your batteries to control the charging.
