dipstick length warning on 2007 GM

i got a letter yesterday from tige stating that the dipstick tube that the dipstick goes in might be to long. im supposed to check it with a tube enclosed in the letter along with photos, did any other new boat owners recive one of these?

as long as i change my oil every hundred hours, i shouldnt have to worry anyways, right???

    thanks

The problem with a tube that is too long is you get a false reading on the dipstick; it's not in the pan and even if it's full it won't show on the dipstick so an owner goes and puts more oil in the engine and overfills it...definitely bad for the engine. Easy to fix though...either Tigé gives a shorter dipstick tube or a longer dipstick. Careless error on their part in any event....

Yeah I got that same letter a few days ago. Have been gone over a week so not real sure what day it came, I was wondering if I would get one of those notifications, we have been talking about that recall here on the forum for a few weeks now. Has anyone checked the recall proceedure and found that they have a need to upgrade the dipstick tube?
I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!
