Its not how much power you can pull but how much can your brakes stop, tow ratings are based on stopping capacity.

But I will tell you, I had the previous gen 5.7 and the previous 7.4, and that 8.1 is amazing. It tows my 30ft travel trailer with ease also. And I live in the mountains, nothing but hills.
If you have to commute in the yukon, I would try the 6.0, and maybe do some bolt ons. We don't drive much. We run the kids around in town, less than most. And do grocery shopping in Chico, about 25 mins away, once a week. So usually 2 trips to chico a week. Other than that, we work at home, the lake is 9 miles away. All our camping spots are close. We basically moved to where we recreate. So the mileage doesn't hurt us as much.http://wake9.com/

Can't wait to see how my Hemi Grand Cherokee will pull the new 24Ve. After researching the Jeep boards, I am confident it will pull it fairly easily. Stopping it on the other hand.......
Also, just to clarify that true dual exhaust will NEVER hurt performance on a large displacement motor from a HP standpoint if tuned correctly. Especially with the upgraded air intake (more air in, more air out). It is true that you may lose some peak TQ however, which in this case is crucial.Last edited by FacePlant; 04-07-2008, 11:04 PM.

For reference, the 2007 Volvo V70r has a towing capacity of 3300lbs.

That said, by simply adding your trailers weight, you're already well over the tow limit. Lets not forget to mention fuel and everything else that you'll carry in the boat or in the car.
So yeah, it might PULL the trailer but did you ever wonder why both the 5-cylinder and 6-cylinder have the same TOW rating? This is because its rated on stopping power too.
You're playing a very dangerous game.Freude am Fahren.
