I already bought a Z1, so i don't need convincing. This is the first boat I have owned. I am interested to hear how many of you have owned different makes of boats in the past, what they were, what you have now, and your thoughts on those manufacturers compared to Tige?

We got rid of our 85 SeaRay to get our 24v.

Had a Tahoe (Bass Pro Shops) before Tige. Fantastic value for the price. Would recommend to anyone wanting an I/O. Owned it two years and sold it for 200.00 less than purchase price. Had a few goodies thrown in but still a great resale. Before that a few old tri hull outboards. Great for pulling around a crew, but certainly not a Tige. Had ours 5 years, and have no desire to ever change.

Had an '04 Rinker 192 Captiva before the Tige. If I were to buy an I/O again, I wouldn't look at any other brand. We had it for 2 years and sold it for $200 more than we paid for it and never put anything into it. It never had to go to the dealer for ANYTHING, not even 1 warranty item at all and we put just over 100 hours on it. The vinyl in that boat was indestructible yet comfortable, the fit and finish was great and it was dependable.

past owners of other makes
1982 2001 ski nautique, 1983 2001 ski nautique, 1992 196 ski nautique. Last boat had 1650 hours on it when I sold it last year. It still brought 8K!
I'd put a Tige' against any manufacturer out there. We love our 2000 21i Riders and the quality is awesome. Some day when we don't have daycare and preschool costs out the wazoo(sp) we'll get a bigger V-drive and it will be a Tige'. This forum is been a great resource and I spend more time than I should checking "new posts". You frequent posters are pretty entertaining and provide lots of useful info. Peace out, lightning 59

Started out with a 1968 Searay Tri Hull Used. It was a well built Sherman Tank. Went from there to a 1985 Searay 23 footer. Great boat for cruising but hell on gas and monster wake before wakeboarding was in. Like the 68 Searay it had an indestructable interior. Scaled back to a 1994 FourWinns 180SE that I kept for 14 years. For a mid range boat it was put together pretty well.Other than normal maintenance nothing else was dropped in the boat with exception to split seams on bow seats and back bench of Sport Interior. Wrote Four Winns directly since out of Warranty and my dealer sunk and got them to replace bench and bow seats for free. Decided 14 years was long enough and decided to go V-Drive and after a bit of research found Tige. My 07 20V has not been in the water yet. I pick her up April 18th.Last edited by Guest; 04-04-2008, 06:39 PM.

I had a 1992 Commander Conquest Jet with a 454 Mag in it. It was a fun boat but is hard to compare to the Tige. The Tige is so different and so much more functional than the jet ever was. I can't think of a day that I missed my Commander.Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.
