I have to launch that deep also...the dam boat just won't move unless I do!?!? Not sure why--sticky bunks I guess.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I'll have to get pics this year when we launch out of Hemmingway on Lake Mead. The front of the truck is 10' into the water because the ramp is not steep at all. Evil can attest to this.

A couple weeks ago a local city cop had nothing better to do that day than follow me for about twenty minutes trying to find me doing something he could site me for. I knew he was there and was driving on my best behavior. Then the lights came on and I was wondering what the heck. He asks for my license, reg and insurance and I quiz him as to why and he states that my plate is not registered to my new truck. I proceed to give him my registration that shows that it is. He then proceeds to check and finds everything in order. Then he informs me that my vehicle should have never passed inspection and been registered because it does not have mud flaps. I wasn't aware of the law stating altered suspension or tires require flaps. He issued a fix it ticket, meaning I had to get some and pay a fine with in 14 days. Well life is crazy and I hadn't gotten it taken care of and yesterday was the end of my 14 days. Automatic warrant, the computer just kicks them out. The killer part of this was in addition to my sis calling me on the cell she left a message at home. The wife didn't know about the ticket and was all freaked out that I was going to jail. Well flaps are now on and I just appeared before the judge and he even waived the $135 fine. Man it's a good feeling not to be on the lamb anymore. Some of us just can't stay out of trouble. I don't think the that flaps that are per law do much good other than keep rocks from coming up and hitting the rocker panel. I will still use my rock tamers when towing.

I wonder how long it took him to look up that law?

So I roll down the window and he asks me the year of the chevy silverado truck and where I got the mirrors. I told him they were stock on 2007. He said great mirrors said he wanted some just like that and drove off.

He must have been an older smarter CHP or at least had a few years on the force. If he were just out of the academy you would have been busted on the phone while driving (unless you had a blue tooth devise or simular)strike one. Tinted front windows strike two and I am sure the would have found a third one for you.

Back in 1987 I owned a 1984 Toyota extra cab 4x4 and put a 9" suspension and a 3" body lift on it. I had 35" BFG mud terrains and measured 31 1/2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the lowest point of the frame. I lived in the East County of San Diego and back then California had a lift law that stated 32" was the maximum. I didn't have mud flaps and got pulled over all the time receiving fix it tickets for mud flaps and they hasseled me on my lift but I had a copy of the lift laws in my glove box foiling their attempt to get me on my lift. I had to start to going to different CHP offices to show them that I installed mudflaps that were at least covering half of the rear hub and then would take them off immediately, I was a bit defiant back then. I pushed the limit too far when I bought some 44" **** Ceepek Gumbo Monster Mudders and put them on the truck. I got hasseled so much that it caused me to sell the 44's after about 6 months.
I haven't messed with the fuzz since then.

dude your truck officialy looks gay now that it has mud flaps... ha ha that totaly ruins the whole look of it. id never put em on mine id go to jail before i made my trucks look like that. sorry just my opinion. that law is totaly stupid also. if you drop your truck 2 inches is it still considered a modified sus. and tires. do they have to put mud flaps on. id go around and take all kinds of pictures , in fact i bet you could find at least 10 people in your city that have some kind of mod done that actualy work for the city and say that you were singled out for haveing a bad *** truck. ( or did ) lol
