I have read the entire post and it is clearly messed up! You said Tige is taking the boat back at the end of August? Just to be safe I would have Tige put it in writting for the extended coverage before trailering it down to Texas. I had posted here with problems as well back in February regarding gelcoat/rubrail issues on a new 2008 22ve and got the usual feedback like you have. The first post was censored and removed after about 5-6 hours. The second post went wild with feedback and Tige did get involved. The general manager finally called and said he would send out a rep and they were going to take care of everything in the post. I was impressed the GM called and so I asked the moderator to remove my second post in response to Tige getting involved. I even responded with a third posting on March 11, 2009 "Tige Steps up on Warranty - Thanks".

The rep arrived over an hour late to our meeting. He arrived in a taxi and made it very clear he did not have the time because his taxi fair was running. He was rude to my wife and worst of all this was 'Ben' the owner's Son. We could not believe the treatment from Tige's rep and afterwards we felt we had purchased the wrong boat. Ben took pictures with his cell phone and said they would get back to us. After the meeting I received a call back from the GM and they were not going to cover my gelcoat or rubrail issues and referred me back to the dealer. Originally the dealer, Tige Watersports in California, said they would take care of everything but changed their position as well.

On July 22, 2009, we won judgement against the dealer to have my gelcoat fixed along with multiple other items. Tige Watersports has not appealed and has made no attempt to pay the judgement. I have not posted pictures on the items involved in the recent judgement, but if the dealer does not pay the judgement and further continues to make a new Tige owner suffer, I will post everything listed in the judgement on this forum. L/E it took me over a year but when the judge said to the dealer "It appears your customer purchased a highend boat and you should have taken care of him", it was an awsome feeling! You should get everything in writting/email just to be safe...

I have asked this before but need to know how or where to post pictures?
Well JWS, thanks for your concern. Things on my end are far from over. So far my dealings with Tige have been nothing but positive. The real issue with my boat has been the dealer. It just never ends, they string me along and then cut it off. I was going to bring the boat down about a week and a half ago cause my dealer said they were going to pay my way down. I submitted a quote to how much it would cost and was told that is great and you can count on that. A round trip would be roughly 3k. A week before I was leaving it was arranged that I would be in on the Tuesday to pick up Tige's check that the dealer owed them that they were already paid out for and the check to me to take it down. Keep in mind my dealer is 3 hours away. I was phoned Tuesday stating that the Tige check was ready but the owner was not there to sign mine. So I asked for them to priority mail it to me so I could have it by Thursday. Trip was all planned to go and Thursday I received an email that they could ship it on a milk run for 2k. They said they wanted me to still take it down but only for the 2k. I politely said you can ship it then for 2k and pick it up from my house. At this time I can not afford to be doing them any favours cause they have yet to do me any. Especially after being told I was good to go. I did the math and really could not do it for any less then 3k. So the most recent agreement is for them to pick it up and have it to tige by Sept 19. We will see how that pans out. I am at my wits end dealing with these guys so you can count something will be done by that date.

I have no reason to believe tige is not going to hold up to there side of the bargain. My agreement was solely with the dealer not tige. So even if tige does not come through, the dealer has signed on the fact that they are going to fix the boat. So far Harvey and Rick have said they got my back and they are not going to leave me hanging. They have returned every email and every phone call. So far there service in getting this done has been top notch.

I am sorry things did not work out for you and had to take it to higher levels. I may also be taking it to higher levels but it would be with the dealer not tige or trying to hold tige liable. Tige has set warranty money aside for this boat. I just hope that the dealer returns all of it so it does not slow the process down. For some reason they wanted to send it down with me not mail it down before. I had a bad feeling that I was going to get down there and the check would only be half of what it was supposed to be.

I'll be making a trip down to Abilene at the end of the summer as well. I'll be curious as to how your trip turns out L/E. Harvey's been great to deal with, but I'm about done with this boat.

Do not take any money from the dealer to anyone. Do not be responsible. They can easily wire the money - leave that accountability in their hands.

Also, yes, get it all in writing. It makes sense to have what you need when and if the time comes to move to litigation.

Unfortunately, I know what this is about and what must be done. Paper and signatures are King in this unfortunate 'game.'

I do hope everything works out for you in a way that is 'easy' for everyone. I am sorry jw you had to go that route. So much unnecessary stress... for everyone.

Well, turned out dealer paid me to drive the boat down to Abilene. So here I sit in Abiline. Took two days to get down here, not to bad, straigh shot though on highway 83 (longest highway in the world and nothing to see). It was 2100 km and averaged just a hair above 9 mpg in my chevy 5.3l. The ride home should be decent as we will drop over 1000 feet. We will be taking the boat to tige in the morning, and hoping to see a few things and talk to some people along the way. Pretty pumped and excited about seeing the place. Going to be like a kid in a candy store.

Now this is not done and over with, dealer still owed tige some money to get this done, but I have the bulk of it and was promised that the rest would be mailed to the plant. At least I can see the light though.

Stopped by the plant tonight, pretty impressive, very neat to see and very clean looking building.

Make sure you ask them to take you to the test lake. You will like that. It is worth the ride. You will never drive your boat the same afterwards.

Also tell Ed that Andrew from Bakersfield, CA said Hi. He is a good guy and I am going to bet that he will be the guy to fix your boat or play a huge part in it. He really knows what he is doing with that stuff.

Wow was surprised to read about Tige' Watersports in CA. We just purchased a 2004 as a repo and were now interested in purchasing a new boat. We have purchased items from Chris at Tige Watersports and really like him and the way we have been treated. But I would have serious reservations about purchasing a new boat from them after they had to be taken to court and then refused to make good on a judgment. That's just not good...........

Just remember, there is two side to every story. However, you won't hear Tige' Watersports on this forum nor Tige's.

I agree there is always two sides to a story. I guess I'm assuming it did go to court and there was a judgment. If that is correct then the judge did hear both sides and apparently came down on one side.

The judgment should be a public document and if I have the time I will have it pulled so I read it for myself.

Why wouldn't Tige' Watersports or Tige' want to respond here if they have done everything to resolve this issue
                        and help the buyer???

IMO I would let everybody do their own research if they want to see the public document

Simple, this site is for Owners not Dealers. However, there are some dealers that get onto this forum and post. So there are some exceptions to the rule.

The Dealers have another forum that they use that we don't have access to. http://tige.com/forums/dealer_login.html

Well the boat is now in tige's hands.

Big thanks to Rick and Harvey for taking time out of there day and showing me around and talking to me about it.

After our discussions, I have full confidence that the situation will be rectified as these two guys are stand up individuals that are passionate about what they do and stand behind there product. It is a huge relief knowing that I am finally closing this episode after two years (three summers) and finally in the right peoples hands.

                                Customer service at its finest.
