That's what I think, too. Then, whoever fixed it didn't do a very good job.

The cracks are starting to run undernieth. I just looked at it more closely. I also just discovered some cracks forming on the other side of the boat. There are some cracks above the rub rail as this is the first pic. All cracks step from a join or hole such as rub rail, tower, window, and hand rails.

As far as the decals go, as far as I know, the boat has not taken a hit. The picture makes the decals look worse then they are. It is more from docking an rubbing on the tires and bouys. I also questioned the hit as well but the gel is original and there are no scratches in the finish. It looks like there is but those marks rub off with my fingers. I have not cleaned it this year yet.

If anyone can take pictures of the inside of there boat where the rivets come through it would be appreciated. I would like to compare a good rivet job to what is on mine. My rivets have stress marks around them where the rosin has be stretched.

Loud: just looking at the pics, IMO, that looks like impact damage to me. I've never seen a boat do that from screws, top deck fit or structural issues; there's too many cracks and they're too large. You bought this boat used, I assume? I would look carefully at the gelcoat a couple of feet outside the cracks and look for a "blend line" where it was previously repaired. I would sure get it in writing from the owner of the dealership that the cracks are to be completely repaired to your satisfaction. Just looking at the pics I think that could be a $4-6,000 job and a couple of months. That's the kind of job we see under an insurance claim. I would not just take a verbal agreement. Did the owner sign the invoice where it said cracks to be repaired? You say the sales dept has been good, but they have not fixed it nor tried to fix it yet. That may change. Not to burst your bubble, especially since you seem so reasonable, but I would talk to an attorney about what action you could take in getting the dealership to take the boat back if they cannot or will not fix it to your satisfaction, just to CYA.

Fortuneatly we do have it in writing that the gel coat be fixed. Every thing else they have fixed on verbal agreement only (shatty job though). They are planning on sending the boat back to Tige in the fall (again). There are no signs of being repaired. It is kinda famous boat in MB as it was used by the free riders. I know alot of them and no one has said anything about the boat being damaged.

It is in my lawyers hands right now. We are just trying to be very civil about this. As it stands I believe if they can not hold there end of the agreement, I get a new boat, or my money back with out depreciation. The crappy part is there are no Tige dealers any more here. I will have to go a long way to get one which will cost me.

If it were me, I would contact Harvey at Tige directly. When I had a floor problem, Andrew (no longer there) took great care of us. Make sure Tige knows of the problem and not just depend on the dealers word that they contacted the factory.

I wish I had more details. The lawyers are duking it out right now. Im not too concerned cause I have a boat to use for the summer. As long as the boat gets fixed or my money returned I dont care. What makes me mad though is that they said that I still had warranty on my hull and Tige informed me that it is null and void after the first owner.

we had a gash in the left hull of our old malibu from the trailer, and the dealer was able to fix it like it was never there, but it wasnt quite as big as ur problem. it did cost big dollars tho....

I looked at your original post date which is March 28. Today is June 14 You are comming up on 3 months since you posted your problem and I'm sure you were in discussions before that date. Hope you get this resolved real soon. PLEASE KEEP US POSTED ON YOUR PROGRESS.

That is odd, usually you get a 10 year warranty on hull on the second buyer.

The gelcoat is 1 year.

Granted but the OP said that was not the issue. I would think that someone would have fessed up to that if it were the case. But, I hope for Loud's sake, this is worked out.
