Speakersox still the best?

I was perusing the speakersox site to get some covers for my NVS Tyrants. I just got done cleaning some insects off of them. The Speakersox worked great for my previous tower speakers, but I am just reluctant to give up 75 bones for some simple cloth sewn together by a Mexican lady in California in about 10 minutes. Then another 14 bucks if I want to put some embroidery on them. It just seems awful steep for something so simple. I am tempted to send the measurements to my mother to see what she can come up with, even though she has never made a speaker cover before.

Are Speakersox still the best?

I think so. I would caution against the Scotchguard option because it makes them retain water.

I emailed speakersox and he gave me a BOGO for the 485s so it wasn't that bad.

I have screamin' sacs and a friend of mine has speakersox, the sox seem like a better product then the sacs. Mine are coming apart. If I had to buy some again, which I do, I will go with the soxs.

btw on the screamin' sacs site the picture for the Mako cover is mine that I sent them and they asked me if they could use it, it is also on ebay.

I tend to tip the mirror 90* when on the road, so don't use the sox (got this free with the purchase of the speakers/wakeboard racks combo. Seem to work great, and you just shake them out, and good as new.

I've looked at the monster ski racks and wakesurfer racks - nice quick disconnect. I'm looking to add one each at the top of the tower before summer. (Skiier, tired of reaching into the storage area. Not a wakesurfer, but looking to try for the first time this year - son has convinced me.

Not quite as easy to remove the OEM tige equipment I must admit.

Check e-bay. Search boat speaker cover. I got mine about 2 years ago and got them for a lot cheaper.

ebay has speaker sox and screamin sacs for ~$24 pair. I think something is wrong with the packaging, but the covers themselves are fine.

Those are for small can speakers and are not for the bigger guns. I did shoot them an email and the boss (Jim) was very quick to respond. He said that ebay price was for just the small covers. I will get with him next week for an order for the Tyrants. I was grateful for his quick response.

Then he found this thread and offered to sell them to me for triple the price!!!! I think (hope) that he was joking. For the record, he does not use foreign labor, and watches the quality very close. That costs a little more, but keeps the quality high. From a customer service standpoint, he already has me sold. (unless I do have to pay triple

I will be getting my order in next week and will be sure to post pics when I get them.

I have the benefit of living about 1/2 mile from a large cattle yard, so I have to have something to protect my investment from the flies.
