Fat, Out of Shape and I'm old too

Help! What do you guys do to get into Boarding/Skiing shape? I used to have a pretty active job that kept me in fair shape and now I pretty much drive a desk or truck. My kids tell me I'm old and I can't help that, but the fat and out of shape part I am working on, but need more suggestions. I do still remind them that I can kick their butt.
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

Chase them around and kick their butts. That ought to help a little.
Indecision may or may not be my problem

Chase your wife around the house when the kids aren't around.

I got it from your idea but wondered why I would want to chase my kids. Credit goes to you to start with.

Running, & biking mainly. I don't belong to a gym so crunches and push ups when I really feel motivated.

I've being doing a little ripstick every night to work my legs and help on my balance.

Funny you say that, last night I was exercising on my ripstick when a neighbor, about my age asked to let him try. Which I did without hesitation.

As I was instructing him how to get started he just gave a good push and jumped on it, a split of second later he was on the air falling on his butt really hard.

He was okay, but when I asked him to try again he said he will never touch such a thing again in his life...

Hit the weights, and go for a jog (skip the treadmill). If you're trying to lose weight, do supersets/or circuits with weights and minimal rest with higher reps.

Consume less calories than you burn and you should be good to go.

In all seriousness, key to dropping weight is consuming less calories then you expend in a day. Best way to use up calories is cardio. If you have a gut all crunches will do is build muscle under your gut.

BMR: 66 + (13.7 x weight in kilos) + (5 x height in centimetres) - (6.8 x age in years) will give you the calories your body uses just existing.

                            Diesel,

How in the heck did you get that picture of me?!

I try to ride my dirt bike as much as possible (which isn't enough). Jump rope and weights out in the garage next to my boat seem to have really helped my endurance.
                            Be excellent to one another.

I know for me, the two areas I hurt at when boating season starts up again always are my lower back and my forearms. I've added some back exercises to help with that, and I'll probably start squeezing a tennis ball for a while every night for the forearms as well as hitting curls hard.
