    Cabin Fever

People, I need help! It's cold out. There is still at least a foot of ice on the lake. There isn't any "warm" weather in site. I'm glad to see that other people are getting their boats out and using them, but that isn't helping my mental contition. Please talk me down!
Indecision may or may not be my problem

Wait for the ice to thaw before jumping.....

OK here is what you do......go get a blow dryer or heat gun, either one will work, and get to work

You should try living in St. Louis

It gets up in the 70s for a couple days and then before you know it its snowing again.....

put a shower on your boat. Put your boat in (on) the water. put the shower in the water (or ice untill the water melts) you don't have to have the whole lake warm just where your getting up and where your skiing. I'm just saying

I guess posting pictures of me riding on glass with nothing more than a heater top from this weekend wouldn't help huh?

Assuming we can get 2 people to do this and assume we can each melt 1 cubic foot in 10 minutes (which is probably a little fast) Our smallest usable lake around me is 60 acres..of course we don't have to use the whole thing so let's say a rectangle 35 acres is what we'll ride on. We won't take any breaks and no lunch or sleep. Assume the 35 acres is a uniform 12" thick.

                              1 acre = 43 560 square foot
                              35 acres = 1,524,600 sf
762,300 sf is each persons portion

It will only take 127,050 hours to thaw the lake!! Or 5293.75 days, or 220.57 days, or 7.352 months. That puts us around early November to finish--at which time it will begin freezing anew.

                              I better get started......
