that what i thought you said but before i ragged on them too i wanted to make sure. well i bought our old boat from them abouta year ago. well when we took the boat out for the lake test they didnt put either of the plugs in the boat.. after we limped the boat back in i notice when they loaded the boat that the winch wouldnt suck the boat all the way up. it was about a foot and a half from the front roller. i said that it needed to be fixed so they replaced it but didt put the boat back in the water to get it all the way on the trailed. they said that they couldnt do that much stuff to it cause is was on consighnment and wasnt there boat. so i said ok. can you atleast check the tires they look realy low and im going about 3 and a half to 4 hours away back home. they said that they were not low that the were a low profile tire and supposed to sit that way. well on the way hom ei stopped at the first gas station and there was only 15 lbs in each tire. also the boat was filthy and i said if i was going to buy it i wanted it detailed and they wouldnt do it. they literaly wouldnt do anything to the boat. after it took like 4 months to get all the registration lic. plate stuff we sold our boat.
well i sold my boat to a guy that i met in lewisville. my buddy had never seen a 22v before so i took him by there to check one out. they had a used one, when we went and looked at the boat it was full of moold and it was all soaking wet. they dont cover half of their boats on the lot and his comment was that it would be easy to clean with some vinyl cleaner and was meaning that i could clean it after i bought it. swear...... i had no intention on buying this boat just wanted to show my buddy what one looked like. they wanted to sell me a 2004 tige 22v with 780 hours on it. no tower speakers no ballast. pretty much a base boat for 38,900... i told him to look the boat up on nada and kbb... the value was only like 18,000. i told them they were nuts and left. im not telling anything untrue or streching the truth just me experience with them. i would never buy or do any business with them nor would i advise anyone else to do so. from what i got from them they dont care to much about the customer after they make the deal and if you go in looking for a used boat vs. a new one you wont be treated the sam.
i bought my new boat from the skidock in austin and i can tell you that things went completely different and will do business with tem again. also i have done some business with texas tige in conroe and they are great as well. i highly recommend either of these two places in texas for service and sales.Last edited by kana12; 03-26-2008, 01:30 AM.

I bought my boat from the Slalom Shop, and the service has been uneven at best. Had to have some gel coat work done, and after 3 months the boat had not moved, I got a little upset, especially when I found out the cover was not on for an extended amount of time. Did quality work, but took forever. Replaced the radio under warranty as well, quick and effecient. Go figure. Good luck, hope you get it back soon.

Sounds like a frustrating situation you're in. 5 months having the boat is enough time to disassemble and completely put it back togehter again. It really sucks that you cant get proactive responses from them. I feel like JasonB, I also really have a pet pieve for un-returned phone calls, or people that don't or are unwilling to follow up. Good luck in what ever you decide.
Hope your reasonable expectation is met.I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

I've had like experiences w/Ken up there. They don't care about their service department. They seemed to be only sales focused and don't realize the money they loose on the back end. They are at $130/hr there and the rest of the dallas boat market is about $100 majority are less. It is sad. I sent in a bad survey from Tige after my purchase on the service department. I received a call from supposedly the dealer manager and expressed my concern on delays in 20hr service and some minor warranty things and the fact that I was continually promised a call back which never happened. He advised would have shop manager call and he didn't.
Since then I have learned to complete all my own maintainence such as fluid changes, belts, filters, steering cables and impellers. I wish you luck in your meeting, but would expect nothing more than empty promises and continual poor service.

If I just laid off 100+ employees I'd take any sales I could get -- bad service or not. Yes, bad dealers can impact future sales and should be dealt with (think back to that Macroeconomics class in college). I'd be willing to bet that Tige is more concerned with shoring thier ledger books for the short term than reprimanding a dealer with poor service. Unfortunately.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

So your boat is in The Slalom Shop? When I read your thread I thought you meant Texas Tige the dealership in Houston.
I would talk to Derrick, the General Manager of The Slalom Shop. See if he can help you out.Last edited by Matt Garcia; 03-26-2008, 01:18 PM.

I have learned from my buying experience that boats are like houses. You just don't take delivery of them until they are in the exact condition you expect a new one to be in. No matter how much they talk and say they will take care of the issue under warranty if you just take delivery.www.automarinecare.com CWB, ACME, FlyHigh, Merc Marine, PCM, Marine-power, WETSOUNDS, HSE Volume Controls, Kicker, Sony, Samson Sports, and many other marine parts or accessory's.

Well, I finally got a call from Kent, the service manager at The Slalom Shop in Lewisville. Very nice and very apologetic. Offered to pay for my 20 hour check and my summerization fees. What I thought was funnier then sh#$ was the case that they just ordered my rubber trim for under the seats yesterday(wednesday) and still have not ordered my new cushion. Kent stated that my boat should be ready my Wednesday of next week and that I can just come in and pick up my cushion when its ready. I'm really curious to see how the boat looks after being there for 5 months.I think that this will really be my desciding factor on whether or not I will continue to bad mouth them on every occasion I get or praise them for there apologies and make ups to make the situatin right.....Well see and I'll keep everyone posted.
You have to fake it if you want to make it!!!
