    Service Problems!!!!

Is it normal for a Tige dealer service department to have a boat for 5 months to do some average warranty work on it. Things that were being done: Tige emblem on back seat came off, rubber gasket being replaced under all seats, TAPS cylinder leaking, Stereo remote on drivers side being replaced, carpet coming up on corner of flooring, seat cushion to be replaced. I bought this boat in July, upon taking reception of it, I found most of these things to be wrong. The dealer stated I could take delivery of the boat now and have the warranty work done when I bring the boat in for winterization and the 20 hours check. Needless to say 5 months later, no boat.....I called today and they have the parts but still have not done anything to the boat......Am I the only one with this problem??????? Do I have a right to be angry??????? HELP!!!!! Special thanks to the SLALOM SHOP of Lewisville, Texas in helping me write this letter of concern.
You have to fake it if you want to make it!!!

You know when you experience quality service you tell 10 people, when you experience poor service, you tell 100 people!!!! Maybe the problem will be fixed!!!!!

There is no way it should take 5 months for that. However, my emblem came off but I glued it back on myself since that was what they were going to do. I would contact Tige to have them look into this ordeal.... I don't know the number for the warranty section though.

Apparently the 2008 Tige emblems are screwed on now due to the problems they had with the old ones coming off after heating up from the sun. From what I understand the dealership is "supposely" going to screw this one on just like they are screwing me. lol

The 2006 was the boat that it happen to not the 2007. But, good information to know still. I haven't thrown away the glue that I used.

Again, I would walk into the dealership and talk with the manager and then the owner to find out what the issue is. It's not like Tige is a far drive for them to get the parts.

Mine is a 2007 and both the front and back metal Tige emblems are stuck in place not glued.

Have you talked to the Dealer Principal, and let them know that you are not happy? Have you given them an opportunity to explain themselves, apologize, and remedy the situation? Have you been in contact with the dealer over these past 5 months? Was there an original target date set to have the boat finished.

Not trying to rub salt in your wound, but, based on your post, it sounds like you have "gone off half cocked" and posted on the internet how bad this dealer's service is. Your not the first to have a problem with a dealership. You're not the first to take this approach either, and this way rarely ends well for either parties. This usually does little to motivate the Service facility to get on the problem

First, I would sit down with the dealer and try to work this out. Next step would be to contact their Tige Rep if you cant get anywhere. 3rd, contact Tige, but I bet it gets handled before you need to go there.

Your not the only one to go through this, I was there exactly 2 yrs ago. Got it all worked out and couldn't be happier. Good luck I wish you the best.

I think that you have every right to be upset.

Have you told them that you are upset?

How many times have you called them to ask when the boat will be ready?

I am not sure if this is the case with you, but there are some people who come on this forum and trash their dealer, but never told the dealer, or communicated effectively with them.

Dealerships sometimes get busy and if you don't call asking for the boat back, then your work gets put on the back burner.
                  Be excellent to one another.

Where I really started to get mad was 2 weeks ago, I talked to someone in the service department, she stated that my sheet was next on the service tech's to do and it would probably be ready by the weekend....I call that week end and she stated next Thursday probably.......no calls, no nothing the following Thursday, so I gave it a week. This a.m. I call and they state they will find out the status and call me right back. NO CALL!!! I call back after lunch and talk with the General Manager. He doesn't know why nothing has been done, he reads off the check list, all the parts are in but nothing has been done. He tells me it next on the service techs list. Again, same ole tune I heard before and I told him that. He said he would find out what the problem was and call me back. That was 3 hours ago and still nothing. I guess patience is the virtue!!!

I'll give it a couple of days, if I don't hear anything back, I'm going to drive up there and talk to them in person. Its too bad I've been paying for a 50,000.00 boat and haven't seen the damn thing in 5 months. lol I guess I could look at the bright side......FREE STORAGE!!!!.

Dont know how far a drive it is, but sounds like it's time for a sit down, face to face meeting with the decision maker and the service manager and go from there.
