We didn't get to board and the conditions, as you can see in the picture that coach posted, were not the best conditions for anything. But from what I did see was that the wake at TAPS 5 and 22 mph, the wake on the RZ2 was the same as the wake of the 24Ve at TAPS2 with the same speed (about a 2 foot face)

Does anyone have surfing pics of how bad the platform cuts into the wake and messes it up? Id be really interested to see

I think Timmy posted some before of his wakesurf. Just need to search for it, I couldn't find.

IMO, it's not going to stop you from wakesurfing... The platform from what I understands cuts into the wake alittle and causes the wake to whitewash before it should but there still is a nice lip. Timmy, I think I am correct right????

It didn't look all that good to me. The step just cut into it too much, and we had at least 500 pounds plus 3 people on that side of the boat. Going 10-11 mph Taps at about almost 3. allot of wash over.

IMO my 20V has a better looking surf wave.

I just hope the new swim step isn't to expensive.

I had a 22v before the RZ2 and the wake on the RZ is a little bigger without any weight for surfing. The wakeboard of the RZ2 is definably bigger.

I have not had enough weight yet to have the platform cut into the wake. I'll find out Friday!

The problem with the platform is real simple, it's too wide. If you look at every other Tige V-Drive, the platform is not as wide as the transom. On the RZ series, it is. To make matters worse, it's angular, so the corner hits the wake. The way I see it, they could either round the corner (which wouldn't look as good) or make the platform just a little narrower.

I actually surprised that they didn't catch this since I know at least on of the product managers surfs.

well on my 22V, my platform cuts into the wake while surfing even tho its curved, I guess the RZ just cuts in that much further

Ohhh, thats like blashphemy. Surfing has got to be the greatest "just do anytime" water sport out there.

My platform can cut in, but only when I list WAY over, with a lot of weight. Looks like it does it on the Zs MUCH sooner.

Don't get me wrong, we love wakesurfing but without a ballast system on the boat, it just isn't as fun as it could be.

We still just use sacs and pumps. With all my crew, works great. I wanted to get ballast this year, but the tower thing took all that time. Just 2 400 lb sacs in the back, you will be amazed at how good a wake you can get.

So DA, when are you going to add the ballast system. You know it is expected that you will keep up with the Jones"s. Have fun.

I don't have any pictures of the final dialed in surf wake but here are some older ones (it's waaaaay better than these pictures now). I'll see if my brother has some better ones, he takes a billion pictures (all with people and the rope which I absolutely hate).

I'm trying to remember our exact dial in, I think it's taps at 3~4, speed at 10.6 with (2) v-drive sacks in the corner that we are surfing on. You can speed up to 11.2 to 11.6 with taps at 6 and you get a super long pocket but the height goes down considerably.

Wow, you can def see the wake getting messed from the platform.

Here is my 24Ve wake, no line:

And here is another, you can see a line, on the FAR right, this is what happens when my platform touches down.

                                If you go here:

                                http://gallery.mac.com/ragboy#100000

About halfway through, my kids are surfing. You will see that line on the goofy side very light, and it comes on and off, depending if I turn a little. On the regular side with ashley, its there more often, because we have to list over harder to get a good wake on reg side. But thats it, its just that little line on my Ve. It looks like the platform is washing out a good portion of your wake.
