Nice new Z2, I like the colors, my vote is for the VOL's. I agree with the others; time to start using that new vessel. Hold the wind off and keep the temps warm, I will be in your area next Saturday and I would love to go for a ride. Maybe a lunch cruise! Maybe we should rally up a whole bunch of tige' owners and make a day of it.

    What do you say?
I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

As for me, don't worry about gas money. I would hope that you would do the same for me if I was in your home town. But, thats for offering.

            Sure would, anytime.

Let me know if you are really up to it. Maybe we can make some plans.

Definitely... Looks like Sunday would be your best day IMO and we do have some friends going out on that day in their boat. From the look of it, you will see the maiden voyage with us.

If it doesn't pan out, there is tigeblue and larryueckert that might be able to.

Your maiden voyage? Me tagging along, wouldn't that kind of be like a kid brother tagging along on a first date you'd have with some hot new chick?

If you don't mind, I might just take you up on it. Flying in Saturday and driving to Redding, Sunday I should be free, the wife and I could drive back down your way, but only if it is ok. Maybe we could get some cool pics for the forum.

Well, it is going to rain on Saturday from what I see and Sunday would be open still. I'll PM you my phone number.

Redding is 2.5 hours away from Sacramento and you are surely welcome to do that but will find out more information a little later in the week.

Update: Well, after every person telling me except for the dealer that the powdercoating should stay on the uprights (to include the GF in this), the powdercoating is staying on there. To redo the powdercoating when it chips off is $300 (est) for two uprights. So, when the eventual comes around, I will have to tell the GF that "I told you so" and have her pay for the new powdercoating to be done.

Does anyone know if Tige allows for the powdercoating on the uprights anymore? I noticed that the "Build Your Tige" only allows for the tower to be powdercoated........ Anyone????????????

I thought for sure that is what you would go for Tall because you spend so much time at Powell and the biger boat will let you haul more stuff for camping.

Nice boat Dabell. don't sweat the powder coating to bad. Mine is starting to have some issues but when it comes time I will just get them blasted and polished. Not big deal. Put a dollar a day into a can for powder coating and when it comes time you will have the money for it.

True, I would have the money for it by the end of the year. However, I will probably just polish them at that time. But the guy did say the powdercoating that they would use can be hit with a hammer and will not damage it....

I just don't understand why Tige couldn't do that.

So is this mainly an issue with the tige towers?
I havent heard this on the samsons or monsters etc...

IMO and only my opinion that have been issues with other at times.

Tige does not use or provide a good powdercoat to the uprights. Given that the areas that are bubbling are located near the areas where there is heavy wear and tear might be the issue. But again, it should stand up to this heavy usage and if it doesn't, they should never have provided it as an alternative approach to normal polished uprights.

No, I am not bashing Tige whatsoever. I just don't like the way they do their powdercoating. After that issue, I have NEVER had any other issue at all. Okay, I better knock on wood....
