Free cordless drill with service from Boats of Nevada / The Boat Shop

I took my boat for service recently and picked it up after dark and drove home. I was stoked to find a DeWalt cordless drill sitting under the driver's seat when I got home. I felt that was definitely above and beyond the call of duty to throw in free tools like that. It was kind of strange that they did not include the charger for the battery...and they also included a phillips screw bit too!!!!!!!!!!!

I called Matt to say thanks for the extra goodies and the good work, only to have him ask me to send it back...Bummer!!!!!

Just thought that I would give him a little ribbing and also thanks for the great service. In fact, he came to my house to pick up the boat to take it to the shop! Thanks!
    Be excellent to one another.

Somebody from Abilene donated a Makita flashlight to the new owners of a blue/wt 20V that I put the stereo in. Found it wedged in between the bow gunwale and cushion.

Of course "finders, keepers" took precedence but like you Tall, that sob didn't include the charger

I picked mine up last minute on Saturday but I got a free 4D Maglite and my transom tie downs resting on the cushions.

Mine is with Matt right now, I spoke with him this morning and he said that my gift will be a cash prize, hidden somewhere on the boat, all I will have to do is find it.

My favorite was a snap-on wratchet and spark plug wrench that a tech left ON the spark plug still. When I picked up my car after hours and the thing ran like crap with the check engine light on I decided to take a look under the hood. When the svc writer tried to deny any wrong doing on their part I asked which tech wanted their fairly expensive tools back??? I held the tools hostage until they reimbursed me for my tune-up that was not finished in my opinion and for my trip back to the shop.

I get mine back next week. I wonder what kind of goodies Matt will leave for me? I don't think an RZ2 would fit, but... Last year he gave me a cooler.

All right, you guys are KILLING me!

I know of many people who would have simply ordered a battery charger from DeWalt and kept the drill! It's honest people like you Larry, who give me faith in humanity...

Please everyone, feel free to bring your boat in for service and get in on the "what's gonna be left in my boat" lottery!

The ultimate story in my book is this one...

I sold Stingrays back in 1998 through 2002. A customer brought his boat in because the deck was actually separating from the hull from the nose all the way back to the back of the windshield on the port side. (That's left for you guys who haven't read your manual). (Remember, 'port' and 'left' both have four letters).

Anyway, I digress. We took the rub rail off and saw that the deck was not overlapping the hull enough for the fasteners to go through both. I looked in the storage under the port side dash and found a cast iron frying pan wedged under the seatbase, which is part of the deck, not allowing the deck to drop down far enough! Amazing what disgruntled employees will do!

When I called Stingray for the warranty claim number they swore me to secrecy....until now!

If you all have not heard, we are now in Boulder City Nevada at 917 Nevada Hwy in our new shop called The Boat Shop. Glad to be out of Henderson and all the larceny and lack of visibility from the freeway! Not to mention the high overhead!

Thanks to all of you locals for your continued support through this incredible downturn in the marine industry. There are many people in my line of work throughout the country who are in tough times right now.

Do we have a date for the third Tigeowners reunion?

                            Matt
