quickest way to kill an alt is to try and charge a dead batt. with it. every alt i have gotten from GM comes with a little note right on top.FAILURE TO CHARGE BATT. PRIOR TO REPLACING THIS ALT. WILL RESULT IN ALT. FAILURE AND WARRANTY WILL BE VOID. and if you dont write charge batt. on the invoice and it fails they will tell you to pound sand. been there done that.

          Larry,

What was the outcome of your battery issue this Summer? Did your batteries and Alt all test ok, did your boat not come with the EIDB system (which includes an isolator) from Tige. Did adding and Iso solve the dead battery problem?

Larry where in Sac area do you live PM me it. I am going to be up there this week for work and can help you with this problem. I have all the test equipment you need to check all the batteries and find out if they are bad or not. I can also look at your configuration to see what is going on there and make sure it is correct. Shoot me a PM and let me know. I will be available Tuesday. It is about a 4 hour drive for me from my house. To Sac. so if I am going to come and help you I will need to leave early enough to get there in time to look at your situation.

He lives in Marysville. About 45-60 minutes north of Sacramento

Larry also hasn't been online a lot because his computer has caught a virus.

Where is that in relation to Davis. Is that right above Davis?

I don't think you would have gotten ahold of larry unless you have his number right now. He hasn't been online very much of late.

I wouldn't worry too much, this thread was from April and no further problems posted all Summer, I was just curious what the fix was, assuming it was fixed due to the lack of further post.

On that note, I did see Larry at the reunion here and he didn't say anything about the batteries being dead. So, IMO he fixed it without telling us what he did
