    Da.Bell,

    I'm like you... I'm downsizing from a 24 to a 22.

You might wanna talk w/ the lawyer about your liability. Just call one up and ask their opinion. Even though you have signed the boat over to them, you still own it. Some money hungry lawyer could come after EVERYONE invovled... not just the company leasing the boat. But I'm not a lawyer, so that's why I say to consult one first.
Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

      Good idea.

Apparently there was a guy in the boat shop last Saturday looking for a demo boat. The Asst Manager is trying to call him to have him come back in and look at mine.

Renting your 24ve ?? Don't you take on a HUGE liability risk doing something like that?

        Good luck !
you just keep your regular insurance current and they have their own insurance policy that covers the boat and you!

The contract is pretty extensive about damage plus anything else that could happen. Its a good move if you want the extra money. I think they estimated I would get between 2k to 3.5 k per month. Depending on if its busy of course.

Aren't you concerned about the abuse the boat will get when renters use it?

you may want to check your personal policy, there may be language in there stating about coverage when rented or leased to others.

I was thinking about going to RZ4, but I don't think selling my 24Ve would be too easy right now. Also, we love to surf, and I would like to see that whole swim step issue resolved. But I will def think harder about it in 09.

DaBell, I just talked to my wife for you. She just finished that portion of law school. She says to consult a lawyer with the contract they give you. It would not be to hard for a good injury attorney to tear that type of deal apart. It would be worth the $75.00 to $150.00 that a good attorney will charge you to consult on the contract.

I saw that RZ4 at the boat show and let me tell you, I thought that my boat was big.... OMG, I didn't even step into the boat because I didn't need to in order to see the entire insides.

Talked with Chris from CWS, and he said they brought one into the store specifically for you.

How would you know if your renters hit something and misaligned your prop shaft? Unless they did damage to the propeller you'd never know till it's too late. They could do a lot of damage that could slip through the cracks. Its been my experience the summer help at marinas is a bunch of young kids that don't know thier azz from a hole in the ground. I would not be able to sleep at night if I knew someone was using my boat!!
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I'll bet your current boat owners insurance policy will not cover renting of the water craft. It would need to be on a commercial watercraft policy.

He missed the opportunity. I went in there 2x looking for one, and they didn't have one, and didn't know when. So instead, I opted to swap the tower for my boat. Its at sampson in vancouver now. If I got my boat back and traded up anyway, arrest my wife for murder.

yeah I thought about damage, but it will not be my primary boat anymore. I have my new RZ2 now.

I did set up some terms with the boat rental place. Deposit is a hefty 1200 plus you have to be 29+ of age to rent the boat. That along with some other things I had them put into writing.

chpthril I hear that. I have already updated my ins. policy.

lol, well... It was one sweet boat I would say. Just WAY too big for my family. But again, we both have the same size family + or - 1 child.

If it was only my family, I would def just do the 22 or RZ2, but we are always out with other families. We host an entire family, like 4 or 5 times at least every summer. So we can regularly have 14 people in the boat.
