How do you feel about the ballast?
Dont get me wrong, your colors look bad @ss. It was my other choice. Kinda wish I went that direction by the looks of your ride. you def will want ballast. human ballast gets old, dont show up, make a mess of your clean boat, dont help with gas. You might as well get the ballast, more ballast means less people which means more time on the board.

I am with bentone, Tiges are usually better than other boats without ballast, some even say it does not need it. In my opinion, more weight = bigger wake for either boarding or surfing.

I am adding a new ballast system to my RZ2 next week. About 1800 lbs of it. We often go out as a family activity and just my family it is not enough human ballast. If some day you do have enough "human fat sacks", then just leave your ballast empty. But my guess is that even then you will find yourself filling the sacks.

          Love the color combo!

eks I have found when surfing there is always a need for more weight. To either make it steeper or longer

I ordered the boat in December and opted to go with out the factory ballast due to my dealer recommended going without. If it becomes a problem, i'll either add one or that will be a good time to upgrade the boat.

what do ballast systems run about? I imagine from cheap, fat sacs, to expensive custom systems.

It is actually better that you didn't get the factory ballast. For the same price you can install a ballast system with a lot more lbs.

Send SPBFAN a PM message and he can give you a quote on what system you have in mind.

This is why we all need more ballast! I will run 1500 # on either corner for surfing with 400# in the front. Add 6-8 peeps and watch out.
