    Look how far we've come

I was going through some pictures of my brother and I this morning, and came across this one from a family renion back in 1986. Take a look at how far boats have come. Man this Nautique looks so vintage. Boats sure have come a long way. Not sure what year this one is but I think that it was probably 5 to 10 years old at the time of the picture. Our tige's sure have a lot more to offer that this Ski Nautiqe did!

Request to the rest of the group

I should of thought about this when I posted the picture.

Request to the rest of the group. You guys dig up your old photos of boats you once knew and lets see how far ski boats have come.

Wow, that old boat looks pretty cool. State of art in it's time.

That old boat probably still puts out a buttery smooth slalom wake

That thing looks to be about 16' long... Probably had a transistor AM radio hanging from the dash.

            It probably had no radio.

"Radio, what the heck is that?"

You mean we can have one of those on a boat too!

"Shoot," before you know it they will start putting cruise control on these things!

This one served us well. Now if I could just bring myself to selling it I would have a ton of extra space in the garage

Not even a swim platform! We crawled up the outboard engine to get back into the boat. We also installed a tri-pod pylon and almost flipped the boat the first time someone cut real hard (1978 Glastron GT 150)
Indecision may or may not be my problem

Yeah, those old closed bow glastrons were great ski boats with a pylon and a huge merc outboard. My dad worked in the glastron factory as a kid so we had several of those and then graduated to a string of stars and stripes mastercrafts and ski nautique 2001's...both great boats, I wish I had enough insight at the time and I would have begged to keep the last stars and stripes we had, it was metallic navy blue banners and nose stripe on metallic gray.

1978 28' Hawaiian. This was a great Lake Powell boat. Built with a lot of interior wood. Traded it in on the RZ4 last year. A little fix up and this would be a classic.

Actually, what I was thinking is where the heck would you put a radio in that thing. You'd barely have room to store your cell phone.
