I had the chance to ride a x-45 last year more than a few times. Didnt really like how much ballast it took to wiegh that beast down. It was factory plus 2000 pounds of fat sacks. Though after all that it did throw a decent wake, but for the cost its just not worth it IMO.

I guess if he really wants a MC then nothing regarding cost or anything we say will change his mind.

Just to chime in about how much I think MC's are overpriced, I was just down at the Miami boatshow and there were a couple of the new CSX 265's there. Given it is a pretty cool boat and a much better execution of a center console than the first CSX, the boat we were on was $170,000!!! When he told me that I about choked on my beer! My dad, who had bought several mc's back in the 80's could not believe they have gotten so expensive. Oh well, to each their own, but my is they just are not worth it, especially new.

Well, my brother-n-law is heading to michigan to get a used 05 X45. I will be interesting to see how it handles compared to my 01 21 V. I hope he doesn't out perform me to bad or I won't here the end of it. It is fully loaded so the sob doesn't have to do anything to it. Again that pisses me off. I am trying to get things upgraded on mine but I also can't drop 3 grand on upgrades at this point. He hasen't even gotten yet and I am already getting razed that he has the better boat it's bigger more hp...bla, bla, bla.
Well I had to vent a little. I do think he a good price but not sure. $45500 for a 2005. I think it has 150 hrs.

If it's any consolation, new it probably cost clost to $90K. You can't really compare a 2001 boat with a 2005.

It will be interesting to see who's boat performs better but my opinion is that yours will handle better.

I went on an X-45 last fall. THe guy just bought it and had not yet really dialed in the wake. He really isn't a big wakeboarder anyway.

The boat is huge. Lots of space. MC craftsmanship is usually top notch. Very comfortable. 4 JL speakers on the tower were as much as any HLCD setup I have heard.

The wakeboarding wake was definitely not to my liking. I generally go about 22 MPH. Had to go 23 to get the wake clean. That would be brutal for first timers and younger kids. THe thing I hated most about the wake was the inner lip was huge. Meaning that when you go from directly behind the boat towards the outside, the wake was huge. I could get terrific air just going from behind to the outside. THis means that when you come up short on a wake to wake jump, you land on this very steep uphill wake and it jars the bones. Maybe we did not have it weighted properly, but I have heard the same thing about the wake on the other discussion boards. THis boat is not going to be very family friendly for wakeboarding. For cruising the lake, and holding lots of people, it is very nice.

Cope and Mcphetres in Seattle is advertising brand new X-45s at cost of 63K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                  Be excellent to one another.

I wish I had a camera at the lake yesterday, there was a MC with a kid out boarding with no wetsuit with 53 degree water temp. He crashed and when the boat slowed to go pick him up their boat died. So the kid was freezing in the water, we went and rescued him and hauled him over to his boat. A camera would have been good to take pictures of my tige pulling there expensive MC back to the dock.

Has anyone ever seen a decent wakeboarder ever riding behind an X-45? I have never, and I live in one of the boat capitals of the US. Can a beginner wakeboard behind an X-45? Nope. The X-45 is not known for its wake producing abilities like its little bothers are.

Basically the X-45 is only nice for one thing and that is space and there are too many better alternatives out there for big boats which all perform a whole lot better.
