It's hard for me to bitch too much when my mouth is so full, but yeah it hurts the budget a bit. I have actually started thinking about changing up some of my savings and retirements to help absorb the increase in cost of living due to fuel.

I don't know what the big surprise is. It was only a matter of time to catch up to Europe fuel prices. Of course, they have the advantage now since the Euro is kicking the dollar value to the curb (where did we go wrong over the last 8 years....any guesses? ). We shouldn't be talking about how to decrease the cost of fuel or increase production capability, we should be talking about alternative energy options that have less impact on the environment. I know this can be a touchy subject for some, but reality is that we are going to see some drastic changes in our world over the next 10 to 20 years. Unfortunately, the U.S. policy makers don't seem to have this high enough on their priority list. Time will tell.
And by the way, unleaded will likely exceed $4.00 a gallon this year also. Maybe, just maybe it will reduce the number of wankers on the lake this year which would be okay by me.
Sorry for the rant.

I just think the one thing that is stupid is that it's our fault it's going up.
TIMMY,
there was very little new stuff required to make ULSD. It's just using a higher grade crude, one that has less sulfer. They had to have some equipment to test and make sure it meets standards, but that's pretty much it.Last edited by Domsz06; 03-11-2008, 09:35 PM.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

Fuel expenses don't stop at the pump. You pay $4.00 for a gallon of fuel and so is the trucker driving your groceries, TVs, commodities, etc....
EVERYTHING will get more expensive as retailers pass along thier higher costs to the end user. Plastic is made from oil....the implications never stop and it's an o-so-tangled little web we've woven. I may sound like a cynical feller here, but I could seriously see us going to war (again) for cheap oil -- our society has been built on it and we don't want, more like won't accept, the pain that will go along with changing our lives to reduce and conserve.
Hell, I won't even carpool with my wife and she works right down the road from me. It would be easy, but the thought of having no vehicle if I wanna cut out early displeases me. I may be singing a different tune this summerOther than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

It's all a conspiracy.... Everyone knows Diesels are cleaner burning, more efficient vehicles. So lets kill it w/ higher fuel charges.
HEHE... sorry, had to throw out the conspiracy theoriesBeing a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

What do those companies do with the grease/oil? Do they sell it for bio-diesel?
