Where can I find a new glove box lid?

Does anybody know where I can find a new glove box lid for my 1998 Tige pre 2100 wt. It broke at one of the hinges. Thanks!

Your local dealer will be the only source, or possibly Tigé direct if you don't have a dealer near by. I had to buy one myself two years ago, but be prepared they are expensive at $130!

Mine broke last year as well. I spoke to my dealer and he said there is no stock on these, they would have to custom make a new one, from using my old one, as a mold. I don't think he gave me a price, just said it would be expensive.

I have been trying to see if I could use some other material like sheet metal or something. It looks like you can add a sheet metal bar to the rear, where the hinges connect, and strengthen it up.

On my project list for winter 08 is to carbon or kevlar a new glove box lid and my instrument cluster. Mine is in better shape than that though.

I called Tigé direct when i got mine and got the part number for the dealer who then ordered it. I wouldn't take the dealers word for it as they told me something similar (can't remember).

I bet you could rivet in a piece of aluminum flat stock along the inside back edge and then rivet the hinge into that. Just my diy idea.
