Unreal. In todays day and age of drought for someone to waste it to prove there is water is senseless but it appears that state laws require some of this in the Use it or loose it laws.

I was so mad when I saw this article that I am writing a letter to our Governor to see if we can change this law or at least re-route that water to go to Lake Powell while they are building the resort. Here we are in Utah conserving water all year by removing grass and replace with a desert landscape, adding water restrictions to residents to try not to use as much water, and those Bone Heads wasting water on many years of draught.

The best idea would be not to let them build that resort at all; can you imagine how much water would take to maintain a golf course at Lake Powell during the summer?

It will be so hot; I can't believe anyone would want to play golf during the summer.

We have water rights here in Texas, the difference is that once they are assigned, they are yours to keep. That said, some of our water rights on the Colorado River were going to rice farming. Perhaps they should try that in Utah?

Too bad they can't send some of the water to Lake Mead...
