A 10amp motor will likely draw more at start up. Maybe close to 15amps. Wire it to cig lighter plug and buy a jump pack with a lighter socket on it. It's totally sealed and will have lots of other uses also will come with it's own a/c charger.

Mouser has a nice selection of power converters. I purchased a 35A not long ago to build a portable AC system on a cart for classes.

Go to a hobby shop or RC car swap meet and buy a used 12v power supply. I got one rated for 30 amps for $10. I plug my water pump and stereo system to it in my MotoVan and then plug that into my little quite generator. Never had a problem, never have to deal with batteries. The way to go if you want to 1/2 azz it to save some money.
