    Marine Power website:

For the past five + years the Marine Power website has said:

"Thank you for visiting the Marine Power USA website. Our new website
is currently under construction. Please check back soon."

Ya know, any 9 year old could build them a nice website for $100 bux.
    WTF?
Kinda scary that they neglect their web image.
It's a BFD in today biz world.

They have our name & address mixed up with someone elses on their warranty records.
    What should we do?

    Thanks.

Be glad when Tige' goes back to Merc.

Call them. They are easy to work with on the phone.

IMO Marine Power is a better power plant.

I don't know about that. They may be here in OK, but their inboard motors for some reason seem to be lacking in the reliability area. Ask alot of the Centurion Owners. Part of the reason Centurion picked up Indmar as an option.

Marine Power has treated us Tige Owners well, and have given us a VERY reliable motor. Lets hope they stick around.

An unconstructed website and a clerical error, that may have been made by the dealer, seem to be odd reasons to dislike one company, and pray for the return of another that did not give technical support to dealers trying to fix thier inboard towboat engines and settle warranty claims with the boat manufactures in a timely manor.

Have you had problems with the engine?

For some reason I thought I recalled hearing some people at Tige creating their site. I could be wrong, that was a long time ago too.

One more thing to consider: Marine Power is based in Ponchatoula. I don't know if any of you have seen what the gulf coast looks like near N/O, Ponchatoula area in the past 3-4 years, but some of it still ain't pretty yet.

Ha, I happen to know someone with a centurion with a merc that had the distributor come apart and lock up the motor. As I untderstand it MarinePower has been around since the early 80's or 70's making mostly commercial marine engine, ie run non-stop at WOT. I remember looking around their website when I first started researching Tige in July 2006, and it worked fine. I have also found several go fast guys using MP powerplants in place of hi-perf mercs to save a few thousand bucks. I really like my MP and how easy it is to maintain.

Marine Power got started in the commercial shrimping business. Many of the features used on other brands today were developed by MP. Dual belts, dual filters, easy oil changes, etc, etc. All stems back to their history in the Gulf. The GOM is probably the worst seas to be stuck in a boat in outside of the North Sea. You would not believe the number of hours that go into training programs for us as operators in the Gulf.

According to the way back machine, the last site was the same since 1998. This one has been up since October 2006. Web presence isn't a big selling point for a company that makes pennies B2C vs. dollars B2B.

I don't know why I said Indmar.... I meant to say PCM.

For what it's worth I remember Marine Power big blocks in little SoCal jet boats from at least the 80's. They make great motors and not just for Tige. My dad just got a 500hp 502 big block in his Ultra and it is bullet proof.
