Ethanol is in it's infancy right now and I think you will eventually see that this country (the largest polluter in the world) will be moving towards other alternatives.
yup corn is actually the worst. Wind can be, but it like solar has a very high cost to return. No I know it will move to alternatives and hope it does, but E85 is not the answer.
My wife is a 5th grade teacher and they studied renewable energy for 3 months... I had to help pre-screen a lot of videos and study materials. I could go on but so far you are only putting up the "standard" arguments that every non-informed consumer throws out. Hopefully you aren't taking offense...
I'm not throwing out a non-informed consumer. I'm very informed, and study it quite often. I'm not taking offense, just stating facts. Just like you are. Hope your not taking it either, alively discussion can be fun.
Did youalso know that if people would let oil companies build new refineries they could produce even better fuels?
I'm on my 3rd tank of B5 in my duramax right now and it seems to be going pretty good, mileage is the same and it's $.30 cheaper per gallon.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

I say burn all the oil/gas/diesel/heating oil/coal we can.
yup so true, it could be produced cheaper, but only with gov't assistance and to you and me that' means more taxes, just read the link I posted.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

While it burned very clean; low HC's, no CO's, no NOX, it did cost the school 4k to fix the machine after that.
The biggest emission from diesel is Particulate Matter (Carbon dust) and Sulfur. Both of which have been addressed heavily over the past 10yrs.
From what I've read from the EPA, Sulfur is eliminated, HC's dropped 67%, CO's dropped 48%, Particulate Matter dropped 47% with the use of BIO over Petroleum Diesel. NOX is a caused by heat and can be reduced by tuning and the addition of a catalytic converter.
In my professional opinion, BIOdiesel is shaping up to be a clean alternative to pump diesel.
I used the 5 gas that attaches to my OTC/Genisys Scan tool. It worked perfect. No problems with the five gas afterwards either.www.automarinecare.com CWB, ACME, FlyHigh, Merc Marine, PCM, Marine-power, WETSOUNDS, HSE Volume Controls, Kicker, Sony, Samson Sports, and many other marine parts or accessory's.

Sorry that you didn't get anything out the program, the core curriculum is not designed for the Technician that is already trained, certified and experienced.
I taught Basic Fuel & Ignition Sys, Manufacturer Specific, and Advance driveability and Emission Diagnosis, and many of my students that took the ASE A8 test after my classes, where able to pass on first try.
There must be something to thier program, as Ford, Porsche, VW, Audi, and others, use them for thier factory training.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

However I had quit a bit of training growing up with a father that was very well versed in this stuff. He was an Electrical Engineer on the B2 Bomber and automotive was a cake walk for him. Not as easy for me that is why I attended UTI. Then when I arrived I found out that I needed to be challenged and pushed a little harder. I think I might of gained a little more from the marine program but not sure. It defiantly is a very fast introductions into the industry. I just feel there is a more cost effective way of going about it now days, plus in the long run it will give you an education with flexibility beyond the automotive training.
With UTI you walk away with automotive, Diesel, & Marine certifications and that is it. What about the core education English, Math, Reading, Business, Business Law, there is a whole lot more to this industry these days and if you are going to advance in it you need a little more than automotive certifications. Yes I left the school an ASE Master Technician and I am sure I would not have done that with out the education but again I say there is more than that need today and IMPO there is a better way. Doing what I do in the industry on a daily basis I see it and talk to a lot of co student from UTI that say the same thing. Last year I talked to and put on training classes for 4,000 technicians all over the united states. I here the same story every where. It never changes.www.automarinecare.com CWB, ACME, FlyHigh, Merc Marine, PCM, Marine-power, WETSOUNDS, HSE Volume Controls, Kicker, Sony, Samson Sports, and many other marine parts or accessory's.

I know of 1 student, that I had, that came in with a 4yr Engineering Deg, many with a 2 yr from a community collage, and many going onto other programs after.
Where can a young adult get this intense amount of training in this short amount of time? As far as "flexibility beyond the automotive training" Would a medical school like DUKE, teach it's students engineering just to broaden their knowledge, no, it's a field specific school, just like UTI
It cost how many 100K to be a doctor and how many years to earn the real bucks to pay those student loans off. With UTI, that 25K tuition, and 12 months of your time, will have a student pulling 60K a year with in a couple of years in the field. I would love to have been making that when I was 23-24 yrs old.
Most community schools offer an Auto shop program where students can work days and school at night, but like most high school programs, the instructors are teaching 25 year old technology.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

B5 is 5% bio, 95% diesel. B10 would be 10%, B20 would be 20%. Bio diesel does have a higher lubricity than the ULSD that the normal stations are selling and acts as a cleaning agent for the fuel system which could potentially shorten the life of the fuel filter. I'm not on the "green bandwagon" but I do believe that we should explore alternatives to what we have now and since GM still warranties my truck with 5% bio, I might as well check it out since I am saving money and it's better for the internals of the engine. My plan is to mix it up, run a tank or two of bio followed by regular diesel (ultra low sulfur).
