    Tower Speakers

Has any one reviewed the Skylon Rubicon 100 Illusion Tower Speakers. I am sure they don't match up to wetsounds P60 but I am far from an audiophile.
    Are they reasonsable speakers?

No need to get defensive when you mention another brand besides WetSounds. This isn't wakeworld.

Not defensive just know these are not as good as wetsounds and has anyone used them or run into them. I just don't feel like putting $800 dollar speakers on the tower where they could be ripped off when I am travelingto and fro. I trailer to most lakes I go to.

before i put on the wetsounds, I had fusion speakers, worst speakers ever.
then cans were getting corroded, as were the speakers themselves.

as for skylon, dont know much about them, but there cheaper, perhaps take a look at dbot5?

The factory Tige cans (pre WesSounds) with the Kicker componants were made by Skylon. Mine are holding up just fine.

            1Lab_trainer,
While I am not an expert on stereos and tower speakers, I think that what is important is what you are expecting to get our of your tower speakers. As I understand it, you will most likely not be able to clearly hear music while riding at 60 ft + unless you get a pro audio speaker like Wetsounds or the other pro audio. Smart stereo guys, please correct me if I misspoke. If you just want tower speakers for sound in the boat and while surfing, the non pro audio speakers will get the job done. This is just a general opinion and I have not heard the skylons. I do think the skylons look pretty sharp though. My

I have fusions and got a great deal on them. They do corrode badly and I have to polish them regularly, which is annoying, but they do the job for what I paid for them and how I expected to use them. They give me volume in the boat when I want it and while I am surfing. I would love a rocking wetsounds setup but I do not want to spend the $$$ on that kind of setup anytime soon.

            Hope this helps!

If you wanna go the smaler route they still have some "b" stock 6.5" speakers for $85 and you can find all kinds of inexpensive cans on ebay. You could get some great sounding speakers for under $150 a pair.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

                      Thanks,
I have concluded I don't need at this time Pro Audio ( WetSounds) or other high grade speakers for wake boarders because we have no boarders yet. I am looking just for speakers that will get the sound out of the boat while anchored at a secluded sanbar or the like and to dress up the empty tower. Thanks for your worth it helps with my thought process. Don't forget Valentines day.

Thanks for all the help and ideas.

They have helped me isolate down to a couple of choices using some of your inputs and key P60 specs as a baseline and going from there. I decided for what I want them for I don't need the wide dispersal of the P60 but I do want to be close in db, and freq response. It appears without ebay I can get a speaker set that will meet my limited needs for $450. With ebay maybe $250 or less this time of year.

                        Thanks again

Then just about any speaker will do fine.
