hey rag,
how well do those terra grapplers work in the snow?
From what I understand mud tires are not that great for snow.
I could be wrong tho....

Thats exactly why I didn't get the mud grapplers, I got the TERRA grapplers. They are the best tires I have EVER had as far as low traction performance. I can go out up here, before the plows come around, and pass up other big 4bys stuck in the snow. They really are amazing, and I will keep buying them. They are definitely very expensive. Especially when I put the 35s on when these where out. But some things you shouldn't skimp on, especially when you live up here.
mud tires, are designed for mud. All Terrain tires, designed for low traction surfaces, but still more rubber on the ground. Where mud tires are more like paddles for the mud. Mud tires might be better in deep snow, not sure, but snow driving, from pack, to loose, to ice, to wet road, the terras provide more traction. I WANTED the mud tires. The mud grapplers are bitchen. But of all the ATs out there, the TERRAs were the best looking. I also like the Toyo mud tires, but the Toyo ATs are weenie. So I got the Terras. When I was looking for tires for my truck, I spent a lot of time, wanting great tire, but bitchen looks. These are the pictures that made my decision.
the snow sticks in the tread and makes you have zero tread cuz the snow is cold and makes the rubber cold and you get zero traction.
Thats a good point, I remember reading that in my research, and one of the reasons I was bummed I couldn't get mud tires.
I used to have a 300zx, and loved it. Then moved up here. Then almost died in it in a blizzard over the donner pass. Living up here, was a big wake up call for a beaner from SoCal. You never deal with weather like that down there. Even when you do head to bigbear or whatever. Its a whole different animal. So I went the truck route, which is fine, I always have had and loved trucks. But taking that Z through the mountain twisties up here, MAN was that fun. Especially in the spring through fall with the T-Tops off. I was also getting WAY too many tickets. Almost got my license suspended.
