Great review...lots of good information. I was bummed Tigé wasn't represented at the NorCal Boat Show this year.

    Thanks again!

            Tessa,

I know CP3 personally and I can assure you it was a joke, and should be taken as one. That animation is a running "rib" on this forum, everyone gets it when they post something like this up with out pics.

People on this thread don't treat other posters as they do on other Wake related forums in the boating World, just check some of them out and you will be glade to be a member here. We joke and have fun with each other all this time.

I'm sorry you found it to be offensive, please re-post your review of the Milwaukee show.

Dude, lighten up! I get more than my fair share of grief and it's all in good fun. There are some pretty funny guys on this forum and that's why we all enjoy posting here.

There's always plenty of banter back and forth (if you don't believe me, go search for the Sheriff Dogbert thread). It's all good and mostly funny.

That said, we usually all band together to help each other out.

BTW, where's the NICKYPOO kid? It's been kinda quiet around these parts

I think it is difficult to sense joking in a written format sometimes, and some people are more easily offended than others. Lighten up is great advice. No harm was meant.

I would read the review even without pics...but a pic is worth a thousand words. Now I don't get to

I was going to suggest a group hug, but then tessa would want me to organized a mid-west Tige owners reunion.

I'll tell you what, you come see me, I'll buy you a beer and, if pressed, give you a hug

Well folks obviously I was extremely offended. I don't mind joking around at all when it is obvious it is a joke. IMO CP3's graphic went over the line of my tolerance otherwise I would not have reacted. If I had Pics I would have posted but we forgot our camera. It's not like my Amex card. I left home with out it.

Dogbert this the second time you have said to me "Dude, lighten up! " When it is called for I can handle jokes about me at me etc. To me it was not one of those times and if I need to lighten up I will figure it out.

Chpthrl the animation if it was used to supplement something like " I wish there some pics" would have been less offensive.

OBTW I have blocked CP3 because of offense level.

                      BoatShow

My wife and I went to the Milwaukee boat show for the very first time this year mainly to see the Z1. We normally go to the Chicago Boat Show because of its size and the various things you can see in Chicago.

Milwaukee is so small as compared to Chicago it was disappointing.

We got to see the new Z1 in Black and White. It has a lot of the lines of the RZ2 and RZ4 but minus the pickle fork front end. If I remember the dash it resembles the dash of the VE series. What struck me as odd is that some of the standard options did not appear to be standard on the dealer work sheet. Simple things like Speed Control and Depth Finder were options. So no depth, no air or water temp. This particular model did not have a killer stereo and no tower speakers. It had some nice standard features like stainless mesh air inlets and outlet that made it look nice. No stainless steel upgrade.

It used the newer snakeskin interior vinyl which also looked sharp. Its tower looked sharp and simple to put up or take down. My understanding is that so many Z1's are being ordered w/o towers they may drop this nice looking lower cost tower and go to either to the E series or Z series towers because of after market pressure.

My impression of the boat compared to my 07 20V is that in key areas it is a sharper boat. 4 inch wider beam and 21 vs 20 ft. Tige bow seats actually have some room to sit in. The Z1 also has a transom entertainment center like the VE series. The platform appears to be a fiberglass platform with rubber pad insert to keep from sliding off.

From what I was able to gather the MSRP with 5.7 340HP was in the $42000.00 range. By time the ups and extras where added it raised the MSRP to $57,000 or thereabouts. The boat show price for this boat with trailer is in the $48,000.00 range plus tax license and all the other gotcha taxes.

Without a test drive it appears to be a boat worthy of the Tige name. Time will tell. In my case I am not going to dump my new 07 20V for a Z1 until the Z1 is out on the market for a while.

Of Course at the show you could find the top Tige competitors just limiting the size to the 20' to 21' size most with more options included except the Moomba this is how I remember price ranking for like boats.

                      Mastercraft Maristar $65k
                      Mailibu $58k
                      Supra $ 55K
Tige $48k w/free trailer (right its not in the margin)
                      Moomba $43k

Correct Craft was there plus Centurian but we just passed them over. Over all loyalty aside I thought Tige is one of the best values for the Money but Supra is dropping price and has some real innovative ideas. Moomba is an entry level Inboard V-Drive an it shows in fit and finish and freeboard..

Fit and Finish and color options of theTige is up there with Mastercraft and Malibu (it is #3 of those 3) and its fit finish is above Correct Craft, Supra, Centurian, Moomba and Wakesetter.

Malibu and Supra have nice boarding features in the 20-21ft' boats to keep uou off the vinyl as much as possible.

All of the top V drives have vector plates and some claim that they don't need ballasts now( Malibu, Supra)

All in all I liked what I saw in the three Tiges they were showing 22VE, 24VE and the z1. The dealer was also showing Azure and other high end I/O's

OOPS my camera is at home . What a disgrace. Oh no I am going to be kicked off of the TigeOwners Board. Will I survive the disgrace?

Good review. I remember as a kid going to the Milwaukee boat show and auto show at the convention center and being in awe at the size. Then I moved and saw how really big these shows get. We have a good one here in Portland, but I had to pass this year. The last two years I walked out with a new boat, and I cannot afford it this year.

If you bought a 24VE this year in Milwaukee it was some where around $74k

If you wanted the 22VE it was around $68K

I think your 07 has another year or 2 in it

                              but then ya never know
