Man, not only do I owe the Fed 10k, now I miss out on this "rebate"\?? G$#YUFUCK$&SHI#@BAGWHO#@!****#@#@AS#$HOL#.
WOW....Heres an idea, how about lowering our tax liability. No one is getting "free money", it comes from the treasury and......that's right folks.....it's your money in that they are giving away. Seems very socialist if you ask me. Here in Oregon, and I cannot believe that I'm saying this, they actually get it. We got a refund last year based on what we paid *gasp*. Since they budgeted less than they received we all got 18% back. Not this crap where everyone gets $500.00, no they did it right, if you paid then you got a percentage of your money back.
I'm tired of the free money shi$, it's not free and really we are only devaluing the dollar anyway. More debt folks......yep.........more debt.
Let's make this crap fair, how about a flat tax system????? I'm tired of being villianized b/c I make good money. I don't see those folks on welfare flying around the country with me, staying at hotels and eating at restaruants 5 days a week. I work my A$$ off for what I have and am sick and tired of giving my hard earned money away. I hate to rant, and I know many on here are wealthy, but my wealth comes from hard work, long hours, and a commitment to my wifes business. I'm really fed up. Jack n The Box is hiring, and its tempting right now......
god the "rebate" is stupid.... Well I'm off to procrastinate untill the April 14th, or when I need to pay for this stupid "rebate"......

There is some fine print about high income individuals that will affect families making over $150k or individuals over $87k though. Looking at some of your posts on the toy thread you suckas ain't gettin' a dime!! lol

Ideally you would get 0 back and owe 0. The 4k you get back is money they made interest on and you couldn't invest or put into a note or money market. Change your allowances unless you use that as a savings account of sorts.
I'll agree with you sparky. I have a big problem with the checks going out to people who may not have even paid in taxes or got 100% returned; devaluing the dollar though.....that's the way it works.
I'm all for fair or flat tax. I would love to only pay in 30% tax on purchases. Last time I worked it out, by the time it was said and done (property, sales, state, local, income, etc, etc), I was paying close to 47% of my income to taxes. I felt Canadian.
It will never work with DC the way it is driven by lobbyists though. Cars, homes, and large purchases are all driven up and done because of taxes, tax rebates, and tax incentives (to lower your over all tax owed). They will never let it go through. Could you imaging going to buy a car and instead of paying $4000 in taxes, it was $15000. For groceries and man made materials, there will be no tax because everyone will pay cash from the local farmer. I don't think big gov will ever let that mature.Last edited by spharis; 01-25-2008, 02:04 PM.http://www.wakeboatworld.com

Rant on Sparky!!! Where does Congress get off handing out our money to people who don't pay taxes as a tax REBATE? There has to be a BATE, to get a RE-BATE!! I will gladly take my rebate as I have had to pay dearly for many years now. Somehow we need to get the message to Congress that this is the USA, not the USSR. Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried. Nothing like rewarding people for sitting on their butt. We need to rant more.

I love the money, but I just think that all this money will generate inflation and devalorize the dollar.
Gas is already super high, I cannot imagine what a bigger inflation will do to it.

Yup, I hear ya brutha. Seems like it would make more sense to pay down some debt w/ that money or use it to create jobs or educational benefits....something TRULY meaningful and long term. This is a band-aid fix at best. I'm not entirely sure how much I'll get back with the "stepped decreases" thier talking about. Now, don't get me wrong, they send me a free check I'm cashing it!! Unfortunately, I'm teetering on the verge of no rebate!? I think it comes down to the fine print. Either way they word it, I think it was stupid. This is just my opinion, but it seems like there is something better they could do than encourage people to be spending.Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I guess I'll just take the money a invest in some secure such as gold, because the dollar and stokes in the global picture will go down. The laughter of the world is merely loneliness pathetically trying to reassure itself. - Neal A. Maxwell

Don't even get me started here. Nobody knows better than me the effects of the lazy welfare bleeding fat A$$ bastages sucking this country dry, and California is the worst for it! My daughter and a good buddies wife work for the county in the welfare department paying these good for nothing Aholes that are career welfare recipients. They know the system and now how to work it.
The wife works for the county as well in Child Care, paying these same lazy #$@! for someone else to watch their kids while they supposedly work or try to find work. They scam the system for all it's worth. The more kids they have the more they get so guess what? They're also career fornicators!
I hear the stories from all three and believe me we pay out for these lazy people to do nothing per se. It comes out of our pockets and we all pay for it somewhere but as long as the standards are as lax as they are it will continue.
Should these people get a tax rebate? HELL NO, but the feds think otherwise. And the amazing thing is this so called rebate will not go against their projected earnings and they'll still get their free money from us! Welcome to America my friends, no wonder we're the "Land of Opportunity". The real sad party of the whole scenario is that the people that really, i mean really need the assistance suffer too because of these people!
Bite me!"Call me anything you want ... Just don't call me NOBODY!

I agree with all the above. It sure is a Robin Hood mentality out there. The rich already pay the vast majority of the taxes in the USA, and this flies in the face of economic reason.
Somehow the government thinks it is immune from simple economics. If I hit slow times, I sell the boat, cancel the club membership and eat burgers instead of steak. Somehow the governement does the opposite by decreasing it's income (giving away tax rebates) and doesn't cut out a thing. We are headed for trouble, IMO.
People are like water and follow the path of least resistance. When things get hard, we demand the government 'do something'. They then do what pleases the people now, with some long term consequences that increase the people's dependency on rich people's taxes...we are sliding into socialism my friends.
Rant on!Be excellent to one another.
