    tax "incentive" rebate went through!!

So most of us will get a check for FREE come May. How come I have a funny feelin' Tim (Wetsounds) is gonna be cashing a lotta checks and burnin' up some plastic in June? Remeber the little people Tim

There is some fine print about high income individuals that will affect families making over $150k or individuals over $87k though. Looking at some of your posts on the toy thread you suckas ain't gettin' a dime!! lol
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

      Yes
I saw that today $1200 for a married couple and $300 per kid. That comes to $1800 for our house hold.

I guess we already got our dimes to have all them there toys. And is the Tax benefit before adjusted gross income or just gross income. I suspect some of us with toys are still in the running for the tax break.
I wouldn't call me a sucker just yet

You still get one if you make < $87k from my understanding. You just get the $600 instead of the $1200 for couples. I don't think they'll let you claim your dog as a child either for the extra $300

I would assume it goes off last years tax return (2006). Payout starts in May so they need to know what you get back before folks file 2007 taxes in April. Hell, if they wait for 2007 returns I won't get a check until November! I'm a little bit of a procrastinator (since I normally pay out instead of getting a return).

Correct me if I am wrong, but how can they call it a rebate? Don't you have to pay something out in order to get a rebate. People who pay no taxes at all are getting checks while the people who pay most of the taxes will get nothing at all. Sounds more like a hand out to me.

It's not a rebate (like we had a few years ago....an advance on next years tax due). This is supposed to be a no strings attached true handout from the tax and SS coffers. They are hoping everyone will blow it on retail to get more money in circ. Long term effects could be bad. It is geared twoard the true middle class. If the GOP had their way the non-payers wouldn't have qualified. The GOP had to agree to allow those who may not have paid to get money or the Dems would not have agreed to the plan.
To get to the agreement, Democrats dropped calls for increases in food stamps and an extension of unemployment compensation. Republicans agreed to allow people who pay Social Security taxes but not income taxes to get the checks, sources said.

Those who earn up to $75,000 individually or up to $150,000 as a couple will be eligible for the payments, said Republican and Democratic sources familiar with the tentative deal.
As figured, the Dems were trying to add earmarks for public works, food stamps, and unemployment extensions. I don't understand why they can't have something go through without the BS attached to it. Everyone should get a line item veto to remove that crap.

I'd prefer a Tax break of some kind, I won't see a dime of that tax break. I doubt anybody posting more than one toy on that other thread will either.

I do like that the conforming loan limit might get increased to over $700k

That's because you guys live in Cost of Living screwed in the butt city......move to somewhere cheaper and enjoy the payraise. 150k for a household here is ballin'.
I could pay my house in full for 2/3 of that.

Also it isn't a tax break. This is a "shot in the arm" to boost the dollars in circulation and raise consumer spending. They know that if someone making over 150k a year gets a free $1200, it is going to be invested or paid on a home or something else tax beneficial. I bet a ton of wheels get sold and donks galore are born. That is what they are looking for. Kind of like what happened with the $2000 credit cards from FEMA.....they went to tattoos, wigs, wheels and tires, car stereo, etc.

You're right, I would go get a DONK!!! No white dudes in Colorado would know what a Donk is - my buddies in the south always send me random pictures of them. Oh, and I subscribe to Donk Box and Bubble.
