            Tim,
You guys are really thinking, the 420 is a really useful product. And the daisy chain option is the coolest! If I ever do a system overhaul this is on the top of the list, after some pro 60's of course!

Have you guys explored a speed/rpm auto volume control system? I hate having to either turn down or mute the stereo everytime a rider goes down, it would be sweet to have a system to do it automatically, with the option to set the level of volume attenuation. If that makes sense, kinda hard to explain, but I think you guys all know what I am talking about. I thought I saw someone on wakeworld was working on a unit to do that.

              GRRRRR!!!!!!!!

I got around to putting in the Wetsounds today. I had hoped it would be a simple swap, but no. The grills are exactly the same size, but the hole for the speakers has to be larger than what was drilled at the factory. It also needs to have holes placed just slightly wider as well.

In fact, it would have been impossible to go from the Wetsounds to the Polk's, because the hole would likely have been too big.

Now I have to decide if I am going to take the time to drill out the hole, or just save the speakers for the new boat this summer, if I can swing it.

I have a rotozip, and that cuts the fiberglass pretty well, but I know it will have to just be guided by hand and is not going to look 'factory'. I suppose it does not matter much since you would only see it when the speakers are removed, but I wonder if anyone has suggestions on how I might be able to easily widen the holes to fit the new speakers.

Here are pics of the Wetsounds with the grill of the polk sitting on top of it, and the template for the WS, on top of my current holes.

              Be excellent to one another.

Look like a good reason to get the new boat........

I did a similar swap a while back and I got a hole saw, 6" I think, and used it very slowly. I screwed a piece of wood across the old hole with a hole in the wood to hold the hole saw steady. I had to increase the size of the hole only 1/2" so you can imagine how slow and careful I had to be. Did all six speakers in a couple of hours. Then I sold the boat to buy our new one.
They make hole saws by the 1/2".

Get one of the hole saws with the interchangeable center drill thing (I think it's called a mandrel)

put the current size hole saw inside the new desired hole saw and tighten the mandrel through both of the hole saws. Kinda like a donut cutter.

The inside hole saw will rotate against the opening of the current hole while guiding your larger hole saw perfectly through. Make sense? It works really good that way....at least on wood
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I thought I was becoming and expert on hole saws when I put my ballast system in but never realized that they make a hole saw that big. That would be the ticket for sure if I can find one that doesn't cost a mint. I'll have to measure the template and see how big it is. The speaker is really close to fitting the way it is now. I almost wanted to do the stupid thing and break out a rubber mallet on my speaker to see if it would go...

I picked up a 5.75" hole-saw to do some Wetsounds. It cost $65 + $15 for the arbor

I just used the template and drew a circle with a permanent marker and then I used a large drill bit to enlarge the hole.

I ordered some Pro 80's from Justin on Friday and got what I consider to be a good deal on some demo's. Justin spent a good amount of time with me on the phone answering my questions on the right set up for me and offered me another great deal on three amps. I do not know how great the speakers sound because I have not installed them but based on their customer service I will recommend Wetsounds to everyone.
