    My RS has 38K on her and it's hands down the best bike I ever owned ...Most of my friends upgraded to the "S", but I can still keep up with them in the twisties. Adding Ohlins to her last fall was the best single investment to date although the X50 radar detector sure has paid for itself time and time again.

    awesome! I've got about 35k on mine. My dad rode my bike once and traded in his '97 R1100RT the next day. Seriously. It went something like this:

    <phone rings at work>
    Dad:"hey why dont you come by the house for dinner... and bring your bike."
    Me:"Uh... sure.. ok." <confused>

    That evening I rode over and parked in a driveway, then decided to take a nap, leaving my keys in a 'conspicuous' place. As I drift off to sleep I vaguely notice the sound of a K12 hitting 8000 RPM as he tears down the street. I drift off with a grin on my face.

    The next thing I know my mom is whistling, indicating that dinner is ready. I stumble down the stairs, still cleaning out the eye boogers. As I sit down to eat, I notice dads not back yet.
    Me: "Where's dad?"
    Mom: "Heh he's not back yet." as she gives me THAT look.
    Me: "Hmm.. ok. Hope he's alright"

    15 mins later...

    "VROOOOOM!!! VROOMVROOOMVROOM!!!!"

    I bite my tongue, as I know whats going to happen next.

    So, he comes in the kitchen entrance (through the garage), still wearing his jacket, helmet in-hand, and wearing an ear to ear grin.

    Me: "Have fun?"
    Dad:"Huhhuhuhuuhuhuh." Trying his best to imitate Beavis & ********... mind you he was 60 at the time (2004).

    So, he sits down to dinner and we didnt say a word about it. I knew what was going on in his head.

    Next Day...

    <phone rings at work>
    Me:"Hey dad!"
    Dad:"Hey... guess what I did."
    Me: (chuckle) "what color did you get?"
    Dad:"Blue. GT."

    And the rest is history, with my uncle following suit a couple of months later.

    oh... I'm also "Ruune" on i-bmw.com as well. I think I've posted the same story there. We usually do the Texas Hill Country Rally, but I think I'm going to miss it this year

      I have seen them and touched them. Look pretty cool, but I want 2 wheels. Let us know if you guys drive one.

        That's a cool story about your Dad. My dad and mom have decided to take in kids, and have taken in and in the process of adopting 11 kids, its pretty amazing. All bad cases from the county and under 5. Break your heart to see how some of these kids come, and then amazing how much better they get. My dad sold his automotive shop in SoCal and just does handyman work up here, and spends all his time and money on these kids. Built an addition to the house for them, tree house, play area, all kinds of stuff.

        So when I bought my new motorcycle, the Stratoliner I pictured on this thread, I kinda felt bad. We used to ride together back in SoCal, and he taught me to ride when I was 11. I know he loves and he misses it. But I also know, if he had any extra cash, he would be spending it on these kids, and not himself. So I spent a month on craigslist. Long story short, here is his new bike I got him, after he cleaned it up. 2006 with only 1000 miles. Owner got cancer and had to sell. Owner was very touched I was getting the bike for my dad. He was so stoked, he normally won't take a gift, but he took this one. It was a good day, this happened 2 weeks ago.

        I have heard it said, money doesn't buy you happiness unless you spend it on other people. I think there is some truth to that.

        Its a 2006 VTX 1300S

              22ba - It looks like you are towing doubles, is that your 20V behind the TT? Looks like a nice setup.

                I would imagine it is his ATV as I have a similar setup and if I tried to pull the Z1 (triple towing) I would be well over 75' and it is illegal to pull over 70' here in Colorado and even lower in most other states.

                  It's actually my old boat, but the 20V will be back there.

                  Should be around 69'-11"

                    Yeah. Interesting concept, however I think that thing needs a big fat rainbow sticker on the back.

                    Kind of defeats the purpose of a motorcycle, unless you're disabled.

                    BRP says how you can lean into a turn, etc... but countersteering is impossible with two wheels up front. In turn, you give up a tremendous amount of cornering stability. If they wanted to do something like that, they should have made a quad. That way, at least you have double the traction out back.

                    Speaking of which...

                      Man, I can't imagine towing doubles like that. How do you get gas? Back up?
