Information Needed On Central Florida

I don't think I can take any more snow and cold temps with out having something to look foward too.

Trying to put together a trip in late Feb.
What lakes are best to visit ?
What water temp can we expect?
any other helpfull info on the area would be appriciated.

I know OWC is great we went there a couple years ago but nothing beats being on you own boat.

Maybe this would be a good chance to meet some fellow Tige owners too

OWC was A LOT cooler before they shut down the MX track. That was hands down the single best mini track in the country-not even a close second!!

I'm out in the Tampa area but I know a lot of the central florida lakes are really low right now. The chain of lakes where cypress gardens is was not even a chain for a little while as the canals that connect the lakes were dry. With a non-existant storm season this year the lakes are really low. They even stopped opening some of the locks on Okeechobee. My recommendation though would be to get ahold of KKO or FIC, FIC is the tige dealer here in the tampa area and his sons ski for cypress gardens, KKO is one of his techs, so they can give you gobs of info. Let us know when you head down, I've been wanting to tow the boat over to an inland lake for a while anyways.

We are the dealer here in the tampa bay area we have to public lakes , Lake Tarpon and Lake Seminole , both are nice but Tarpon is deaper and will give you a better wake, there are a lot of nice places to visit in our area, would love to help you if you visit here.

i would guess the water temps to be 64 ot he lows 70's depending on cold fronts and such. they are in the upper 60's right now maybe 70 on a good day. anything below 72 is friggin insane to me. i haved lived in fla all my life i just cant take the cold water.

Thank for all the info guys. I was concerned about the low water levels and which if any lakes would be closed or unuseable.I googled Lake Tarpon and found it but when I looked up Lake Seminole it showed up on the FL/ga boarder. You don't drive that far do you FIC?
Is Lake Tarpon brackish and if so do I need to worry about any thing other than a flush when I get home?

We are not looking to have any big parties or any thing Chadster just the wife and two kids and I that all need some R&R on the boat.

No they are both freshwater , I live on lake seminole and Tarpon is 35mins. north of me, I dont know why it doesnt show up.

Try bringing up pinellas county lakes and see what shows.

You might go look at the manatees I'm not sure where they are this time of year. St. johns river 1/2 way up. We camped in an area that was infested with armadillos. Scary for the kids, but fun for the ghost stories.
