    Tessa,
Count me in. Like I stated earlier. I have two trips this year in the plans for Table Rock. From where I live in Iowa it takes me right at 8 hrs. Not a bad drive.

I know the Lauderdale chain is not the best lake ever but Reed's marine is on it. They may be down for doing something there.

The Chain of Lakes in IL offers just about anything you want to do. It gets really crowded though! It can also be shallow in spots. It's very close for Reed's though.

How about something closer to Indianapolis. Indy is pretty central for most Midwest folks. It's only 5 hrs from Chi-town. There is also the sister lakes in IN--never been there but heard they are nice.

If you can put something together on Table Rock, I'll go. (free rent) 10 hrs isn't too far if we're staying for a week especially without paying for a hotel.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Silver lake in MI? It's not a HUGE lake but there is SOOO much to do. The dunes are a blast! All of us w/ MX bikes or ATVs can throw paddle tires on them and do that as well as boating. There is also a lot of water slide parks, go carts, and other misc girlie tourist stuff in town a short bike ride from campgrounds. We used to go here a lot as kids and it was our favorite vacation.

Most importantly--we can set up a giant slip and slide going down the dunes and jump into the water to copy those folks on You Tube

Both lakes have their advantages and disadvantages.
Table Rock- Pros- Slalom courses, Closer to night life,
          cons- More populated

          Bull Shoals-Pros-Less populated, Parks
          Cons- Less night life
Common Sense is not so Common
Looking for fat chicks for long walks, romance, cheap buffets, and BALLAST.

            J/K

I might consider a run up to an event this close. I will try to stay in the loop.

I'd be in. We are moving back to Chicago later this year. My family has a lake house in Sister Lakes Michigan, its about 1 1/2 to 2hrs from Chicago depending. There are five lakes in the town but I don't think the event would work very good there as it is very populated and all of the lakes are surrounded with houses.

I'd be willing to drive about 10 hours from Chi-town but that would be about it. So as long as we can find a location within that radious I'd be there.

You would not be dissapointed in TableRock or Bull SHoals. Both of them are clear resevoir lakes where you can see a good 20 + feet down. Always calm water somewhere so great for boarding , skiing tubing or any other water sport your heart desires. Granted it is 10 hours out of Chicago but I can't handle Muddy Lakes like the Chain of Lakes in Antioch and Fox Lake nor do I like Delevan because it is fairly small. The Southwest Ozark lakes are all large do if you want to take a long cruise you can be out quite a while before you get to the orher end.

Decisions as to where to go will be up to the majority when We try pulling this together. I know resorts on TableROCk and Bullshoals that would handle a few boats and they both have updated cabins and such. I am going to both this year to get the lay of the land and if there seems to be enough interest I could get reservations in. (more to follow)

Lake Mead is out for me. way too far and way too cold.
Check out Lake Winnebago in WI , its one of the largest inland lakes in the country.
I would definatly be down for a Tige reunion closer to home!!

KInd of shallow isn't it at 15 & 21 ft. With a large number of boats this lake will get choppy real quick.

I hear the mosquitos can get to an adult, land on tem stick em with theiir stingers and fly away while suckin out a blood refill.

I've heard Lake Winnebago is very nice. My neighbor has a cottage there and he's always saying it's incredible.

About it being shallow, no lake is going to be "perfect." 15-21' is not that shallow. There will ALWAYS be a down side to any lake or location. In the grand scheme of things, shallow isn't that big of a deal IMO.

I got some pics and im sure Tessa does as well. I will try and post eventually.

                              EDIT-This is at Bull Shoals
The dock at Black Oak Resort

                              In the dock

                              Marina in the distance

                              Bluff

Fish at a marina, the water in this picture does not resemble the water in the rest of the lake

TRock is my home lake and KICKS ***!! Yes, it can be crowded but we always are able to find good water. And as a FYI, consider the ski course crap now, there is a huge amount of development happening in Little Cow now, they put in a 10 or 12 slip dock this year and there is a permit for another 10 or 12 slip, that has yet to go in. The crew that manages the course only hits it in the early am and late evening, mostly during the week. All the wallies think LC is the place to hang out. And that can really piss ya off!! This past summer wasn't too bad, but there were moments when we were not a very happy bunch.

Bull Shoals is a beautiful lake and really isn't a bad choice.

I'd LOVE to get together with other Tige Owners. I've been around them for a very long time and remember when they first came to TRock.

I will post some of the pics I have of TRock when I have a little more time. I better get back to work!
