With the latest poll I was surprised there was not a grilling category. Does anyone else have a grill for their boat? There are usually three of us that go out to the islands and we each have a grill, we'll usually end-up cooking for 15 or so people on a good weekend. Just figured I'd share what I have and where I attach it. It is a Magma Party Kettle with a rail clamp mount that I attach to a bow handle. I love having fresh grilled grouper sandwiches or burgers, we use it almost every weekend.

I thought about making something on the CNC mill that I could clamp a small grill like that to the platform, but decided it wasnt worth the calories (either way!). Especially with the water as high as its been, its only about a 25 yard hike from my dock to my grill. better to spend the calories rebuilding the dock.Freude am Fahren.

Grills are for pontoon boats!!
Seriously though, my boat is too small, my kids too young, and I'm too anile to deal with that mess and danger. I also don't allow food on the boat.
Normally we have another pontoon with us and we grill on there.Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Mtnsmith,
Are those Evids on the tower? Great tower speakers.
I would love to barbeque that way, but do worry about the mess also...has that been a problem? What do you do when underway? Is the grill too hot to put anywhere else? Please elaborate. I would even worry about some of the chop coming to shore and rocking the grill too much.Be excellent to one another.

Yeah, those are Evids, I agree, great speakers for the money. As far as the grill, it is made for use on boats so it has an integrated drip pan that actually burns off the grease without producing flames very often so there is no grease issues. It can't really be seen in the shot I posted but the grill hangs out over the water so even if it did drip it wouldn't hit the boat. It only goes on the handrail after we get where we are going and it cools off enough to put away in about 10 minutes. There are a couple other mounts that would allow the grill to be mounted elsewhere, but that is th mount we already had so I figured out how to use it. The grate for the grill also is recessed about half an inch so if the grill rocks nothing rolls off. It also has a nice canvas bag to store it in so if there is any ash or grease it stays in the bag while it is stowed. Let me know if you want another shot of the grill hooked to the hand railing.
