    wakeboard dad

I late last summer I bought a use 01 21 v limited. I love the boat. It handles great plenty of room for 11 of your friends and family. I have yet to wait my boat but it throws a good wake. Skiing is awesome. The wake is not hardly there.
So I think you are making a good choice by looking into a TIGE'

The 20v is a good choice, but also take a look at the new Z1. Cant answer alot of questions about it since it was just released for 08, but it's looking to be another awesome Tige boat.

There are a few owners in your area on here, I'm sure someone can get you some dealer info

*EDIT* I see that you are looking for used.....probably wont find any used Z1's, but still worth looking at.
How does the 20V do in whitecapped water and how does it do in random rollers that occur on very busy Lakes. When we took out test ride we were fairly impressed at how it handled whitecaps driven by 40+ mph gusts but for a while we got soaked until I got Taps adjusted so that the bow was high. It was a memorable cold day in November.

On another note I may be in your area in 3-4 weeks depending on scheduling of the BOA labs. I will let you know for sure when the schedule is locked down.

As other people have noted Tige is an inboard that will fit the bill.Their 20V modelis good for skiing and wake boarding.

I am also in the same situation as you. I am in Mequon and have a cabin up north and would love to find a used 20V or similar. The problem is that they have not been in this area long enough for the owners to upgrade so inventory is scarce. The other place you may want to look is Shipyard Marine in Oshkosh. They are right off Hwy 41 so they are easy to reach. In fact, if you type in your zip code you may find that you fall in their territory. I do. I plan on asking about that at the boat show. I think they should drop their prices in Wisconsin about 15K so they flood the market and everyone will be talking about them. What do you think?

Let me know if you can get that one to fly and then you can buy my used 20V. Good luck.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

We have a 07 20v that we use for skiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Our family and friends range in skill and size.My wife is 5-3 110lbs and I am 6 feet and 230lbs-kids are in between. Our 20v handles all the weight changes and activities with little adjustments. My wife used to get a little motion sick on our old boat but has no prob with the Tige even in rough water. We love our Tige. Hope that helps

wakeboard dad, we currently own an 07 20i, its great for skiing and wakeboarding, we dont even use any ballast for boarding and still getting enough height for a backroll. i think the 20i would be the best choice for you, i know that many people on these forums tend to favor the wakeboarding models ie. the V's and Z'z, the 20i would be a much better compromise between wakeboarding and skiing!! you can make the boat heavier for wakeboarding if you feel you need it, but it will make a huge difference for your skiing son, he will really feel the difference in the wake size and softness. good luck on your choice and if u have any more questions on the 20i just pm me.

we have a 97 2100v I bought in Georgia and couldnt be any happier. I am a big time wakeboarder but dad loves to ski also. skiing just empty ballasts and set the taps to Ski and we have nice ski water, wakeboarding simply fill them up and set taps to wheres its best and turn up the stereo. Also what I like most about my Tige is it has more room that the "other" boat. Most boats are more narrow but this one is wider and more roomy so its easier to get gear ready and your not tripping over people. This boat was about $20,000 with 130 hours on it

Heres a picture from last summer.

The bottom line is that everyone is going to try and convince you that their model is the best (like mine ). What you really need to do is demo. I cant stress this enough. Figure out whether you want the engine in the middle of the boat, or near the transom (i.e. "i" vs "vé or "z"). Figure out if you want a wider wake, flatter, maybe bigger (i.e. bigger boat or boat with ballast)? Everyone here has decided what they want and pretty much figured out how do get it with what they've got. You're starting with a clean slate, so now is the time to figure out exactly what you want- firsthand.

This is boatshow season- go to your nearest show and check them out! As soon as it warms up, ask your dealer to demo the boat(s) you're interested in. If that dealer is unable to do so, or doesnt have the stock to do it, go somewhere else. A lot of dealers have on the water boatshows- I know theres one here in Austin 2x a year. Thats the best time to check everything out and see how they stack up to the competition.

                    Hope this helps!

orr if you see someone on the lake with a tige and are a wakeboarder... offer a few bux for gas and say Can i get a ride for a few minutes... IN my area, we are always supporting boarders especially ones without boats because most of them got skill and cant ride becuase of no boat so ill take them out for the hell of it. More riders, more fun. Everyone is always getting a few laughs watching some falls

You will not regret buying a TIGE'. It is the first boat my family ever bought and it will be the last. I had some issues in the begining with my dealer and TIGE stepped up and took care of me. I did cost me some money but not as much as it could have.

TIGE' stands behind the product. I can testify to that and Mr. Pigeon the owner and founder of TIGE' truly cares about each one of his customers. You don't just buy a boat when you buy a TIGE'. You become part of a boating family.

                          Wakeboard Dad,
This time last year I was in a very similar situation that you are in. I’ve always been around boats since my parents bought lake property in the early 60’s. I have four sons ages 11 to 18 and we spend a lot of time at the lake during the summers. Our family has an 18’ Larson outboard, GTX SeaDoo, and a Prindle catamaran – then summer of ‘06 my son discovered wakeboarding. He was 12 at the time and logged many hours behind the outboard that summer, occasionally getting to ride behind a wakeboard boat.

Out of all the boats we had been out in I was most impress with our friends 2000 Tige 21v. So the search began; I was looking for a used 21v or 20v and ended finding a very nice ’01 22i. It was in like new condition and had all the options I was looking for. All of my family now enjoys skiing, wakeboarding, wakeskating, and yes occasionally tubing. You will not believe how much your boys will progress behind great tow boat. Do it for them.

Buy as big a Tige as you can afford and you won't be doing it in again 2 years. We are on our second 24' Tige and couldn't be happier.
Too many start small and then bring the kids friends and wish for more room. Do it now so you only have to do it once.
The 23V and 24V are great for family, boarding, and fun.
                            Good luck.

Very true, great advice. We went from an 18'er to the 22Ve and couldn't be happier.
