Ditto here... They didn't hook up my trailer electric up correctly when they added the hitch... no backup light hooked up to the center pin...

That was a lot of fun the first day... I got that fixed really fast...

my maker still has bulbs, but you can upgrade to LED's
Most new trailers I looked at when buying my 07 20V used LEDS but their are smaller dealers who have not had time to re-tool.

This is the only thing I dont like about my Dorsey, is the manual lock-out. It wont stay in. You either have to strap it in or have someone stand on the tongue and hold it (never done this, and wont). It would make getting in the yard with it much easier, but I would have to stop at the top of the neighborhood and put it in cause it's all down hill to the house.

The manual lockout on the Extreme trailer is touchy as well...

One cannot back up with surge brakes unless the harness is plugged in and the car is in reverse. The reverse signal disables the surge brakes when backing up. If anyone has ever tried the reverse lockout plug that comes with the trailer, they know it is basically near impossible to use.
Ditto that. I have never unpluged, never blown a light. Wouldn't be able to back up if I did unplug, unless I got a special adapter to override the brake acuator.

I forgot one time to put the truck back in reverse. Backed the boat up to ramp (on a downslope), got out to fix the bumpers, etc. Got back in, thought I had the truck in reverse, but had it in neutral instead. Gravity pulled the truck down the ramp. The boat/trailer in back basically jerked/stopped, jerk/stopped all the way into the water before I figured out what was going on.

I carry spare trailer reverse lock out plug, PLUS duct tape. My hydraulic brake actuator "failed" at Lake Chelan two summers ago, and I could not backup with the trailer. I was jammed between two parked trucks and a rock face, could not move. Luckily, I popped in my spare lock out plug, wrapped the sucker up good with duct tape around the trailer hitch so the sucker would not fall out, and went on my way.

I've never seen a lockout plug before.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

The little "key" fits in the slot and keeps the piston from compressing.

i never had one of those plugs for 3 yrs and didn't notice much difference, but then again maybe it's because of what I"m pulling with.

My experience has told me that the concerns aren't with the lights blowing up and failing to work. I can handle a blown bulb. It is that you don't want to short out the wiring or fuses on the tow vehicle.
I have an Extreme trailer and changed the tail lights to LEDs for visibility. I always unplug the trailer before going in the water. My wiring harness is rubberized, but I would hardly call it water proof. I don't want to risk my truck for a simple harness.
