What do you guys think of the latest releases from MC, I mean Zane?





The first ones were funny, these were pretty dumb. I think they are worried of losing market share so they are trying to differentiate themselves.

I agree. Rumor on WW is that the commercials were all made at the same time, so they are not making new ones, just releasing them now. They also said the commercials are all on the MC promotional DVD handed out at boat shows.

If only I had an XStar with 3,000lbs of ballast. Then I would know I was cool and was a better wakeboarder.

I love how it originally started as Zane doing it in his free time to promo DVDs. Seems like MC was behind it the whole time.

MC was behind the whole thing. They are on the Rewind 08 DVD handout at the boat show. I was pretty disappointed to see it when I watched the DVD. What was funny was when Travis Moye admitted that the Xstar needs more than standard ballast to get a good wake. Not only that, but the x-45 has an attitude adjustment plate (trim tab) to change the wake.

Malibu says that Tige grinds the hook out of the hulls and when the taps is deployed the wake is actually smaller... isn't that the point?

Of course Tige dogs expensive drag hardware that robs fuel economy.

I find it interesting that they would spend that much time telling you about what the other brands of boats are doing ,instead of what there boats do better ,or is that the point they dont have anything to say. When I worked in the racing industry we had a saying, if it dont run chrome it. I already had a talk with Zane about him indicating that tige was copying the pickle fork, I told him he would look like a fool if he checks his history the pickle forks came out long before MC was around. So who did they copy?

Then they come back to say that the pickle fork was created by a person that they eventually hired on. IMO, who cares about who created the pickle fork? It service it's purpose and if they were so worried about copycats, then they should have patented the product to restrict people from using this type of structure.

What is sad about this is that Master Craft has made them selves look bad. Master Craft, Malibu, TIGE', Centurion, Sanger, Calbibra, EPIC, they all build a nice boat and I am not afraid to go behind any one of them. I think it is just personal preference. You buy what you feel will fit your needs for the best value. TIGE' did that for us and our family and everyone enjoys our boat when we use it.

I thought the Apple commercials were lame (ok the first one was funny, but that was only the first time I watched it), these are worse.

Personally, I think they can do whatever they want. Hell, if they were funny I'd even laugh. They don't change how I feel about my boat. Say something funny about my kid being ugly and I'll laugh--I won't stop loving him because he's ugly. I have no problem with them cracking jokes; that's what guys do to each other right!?
I just don't think they are FUNNY. Kinda like a crappy comedian, I felt let down at the lack of good humor.

Well said, it is all about preference and value.

I wouldn't say that MC is better than Tige or vice-versa, just that Tige boats meet my needs for the value. For others, there is a value in paying $10K to $20k more to have the MC name.

I laugh at them when I see them. IMO, they are funny and I only take them for what they are worth.

I still find it hilarious that the wedge falls off the guys arse.
