    Info on a MB B-52

Can anyone give me any info (good or bad) about a MB B-52 boat. This is a 1999. Hull, engine? Does it rare up during power up? Anything.

    TIA

I have heard it produces a nice ski wake. Don't know that for a fact though. I have heard TIGE's are way better.

Not many older Tiges around here for sale, just a few newer ones.

Here is my . I've test drove some 2006 MB when I was deciding about what boat to buy. The one I tested had 1800 lbs of ballast and it needed every single lbs to get a decent wake. The 22V Tige I bought at that time didn't have the ballast and it had a comparable wake.

One other factor that made me choose the Tige was how it handled on rough water, the MB has more of a flat bottom and I felt it when in rough water.

They do have some cool gel coat design!

I rode in & behind one a few years ago. I thought the boat was pretty cool. The only thing I remember not liking so much was the tower was rather low, I had to to duck under the tower speakers.

The hull is the same as new 2008 B-52 the only difference is the 2 speed transmission and more ballast. I got the chance to test drive and ride behind one and IMO the boat did not handle that well and it ran vary high RPM's at normal wakeboarding speeds around 4000. The wake was a monster tho......but what wake wouldn't be with 2000# of ballast.

How did that 2 speed tranny work? I actually lopoked at a couple before we bought our Tige. I thought they were nice, just out of my budget for the particular boats I looked at. Never drove it.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I was not a big fan they said it helps with flue consumption but the boat still ran very high rpm's in second gear. With all that weight they need help getting out of the hole and they couldn't down pitch the prop anymore.

I am going w/ a friend to look at this tonight, it would be for him. The boat is a 1999, it does have factory ballast in the back. I was looking for any major issue that these boat may have had. It doesn't sound like they have had any. This boat has been very well taken care of. I remember seeing it when it was new. Really nice looking boat. The beam is a 7'4" wide.

If the boat doesn't have PP he must get it, MB's are very hard to keep a consistent speed with out it.

Ok, thanks. Can you think of anything else? I was told to look for a soft spot in the hull under the windshields? Have you heard anything like this?

no, my friend has a 2002 with the checkered flag graphics and he loves it but doesn't have PP and wants to add it.

Sorry for my ignorance, What does PP stands for?
