I punched a 2-inch X 4-inch “T” shaped rip/hole in my liquid force 5’4 inlander
Surfboard. It's on the water side. I’m looking for ideas to fix it. Any ideas?
I would patch/fill and sand and paint it as if it was a fiberglass panel on a car or gel coat repair on the boat. May not look the greatest after you are done, but at least it would be water tight and structurally sound.

“Dang it jim, I’m a carpenter not a fiberglass man” Does that mean cut the hole bigger (1/16 inch) and fill with resin or do I sand patch and sand? Or stuff and fill?

I'm with you on this part.
It's not dented as much as ripped. I dropped a metal box on it I was getting rid of clutter.
I'm no body man, but I have dabbled with bondo/fiber glass a little. Dont make the hole any bigger then you need, but you will need to cut, grind, chip anything that is loose and then sand back the edges a little.
From there fill'r up with the F/G resin filler.

You guys are killing me. This gets my vote for the funniest come back. I remember as a child having to interrupt my afternoon TV viewing for when my dad came home and we would have to switch to Star Trek. Thanks for the laughter.
I did a small gelcoat repair on my boat, and I agree with what CHP says. I think it would not be hard at all to get her to perfect functional status, but getting her to look perfect would be in a whole 'nuther league.
What type of board is it? Depending on the damage you might just want to replace it.
www.automarinecare.com CWB, ACME, FlyHigh, Merc Marine, PCM, Marine-power, WETSOUNDS, HSE Volume Controls, Kicker, Sony, Samson Sports, and many other marine parts or accessory's.
Have you considered a 2 part epoxy? I used it on a wakeboard to seal up a crack. another suggestion would be the stuff they sell at west marine called "west system." They probably have it on their website.
surfboard repair kit... From there fill'r up with the F/G resin filler.. I'll look into the "west system" too .... I've used epoxy on other stuff and I'm not sure It can take the flexing.
My daughter will only let me get away with being so much of a redneck on the Tige. so we will see if can make it last another season.

To get it to look repectable you have to apply the fiberglass in many layers each going in the opposit direction, it will take a while but if patience is used then it can come out looking good after the gel coat. Trust me I am an ex Marine
I have been surfing my whole life.....get some foberglass repair from a surf shop.....sand appply and apply sand sand apply sand more.....thats pretty much it.
I used great stuff to fill the void. and then I got some foberglass repair from a surf shop.....sand appply and apply sand sand apply sand more..... The temp was high 50's so it wouldn't harden, untill I put some heat to it. I think it's going to be great after the paint. Live long and prosper! Thanks again!
