    Buying used 1997 PER2150wt

Thinking abut buying a 1997 PER2150wt. The boats looks like it is in great condition. Are there any issues that are known about this year and model

    Welcome to the site!

The first issue with that model boat is, it is too fun and you will have a great time doing your water sports behind it. If you do serious wakeboarding and or surfing, you will need additional ballast.

A good way to start collecting information is to do a search on this site. Maybe type in 2150 in the search box. Like this.

There are no major problems I am aware of. There are always a few minor things. I have purchased my 2150 new from the dealer. Last season there was a stalling issue related to boats manufactured around that year. I replaced the fuel pump and anti siphon valve on mine and the problem hasn't returned.

What motor does it have and how many hours? Any pics? Does it have a tower? Sound system? What water sports are you planning on behind the boat?

The most common question is: "What do the letters stand for in the model #?" PRE is short for Precision. WT stands for Watersport Towboat.

There is also a few other threads about things to check for when purchasing a new boat. They are very thorough. You should check them out as well.

Good luck and post any more questions you have. There are more helpful family members on this board than myself.

Welcome to the site. That's a great boat. If this is your first inboard, I'd go ahead and have it checked out, preferrably by a dealer. As Teamallen indicated, there's lots of good info on this site.

Once you get it, be sure to post some pics.

The boat has a 307 with 260 hours.

307? Should be a mercruiser 350, the only way it would have anything other is if somebody swapped it in.

            ole,

I've been on TeamAllen's boat, and it is solid as a rock, typical Tige construction and in awesome shape.

Have the boat checked out real good. If it was taken care of properly, sounds like you have found a good one. Hope it works out for you.
